Agentforce Voice: AI Voice Agents For Every Channel

I'm happy to share that I'm staying in the same position as last year as the Product Manager of Agentforce Voice at Salesforce!

AI is everywhere right now: news headlines, commercials, billboards, dinner table discussions, kids homework, your workout plan, your diet, etc.

For more than a decade, AI was limited to practical use in chat contexts: you visit a company website, and you're greeted by a chat bot...you open a mobile app, and you're chatting with a bot that can help with a sample set of requests. 

Building these bots was time consuming and labor-intensive for brands, trying to predict every type of interaction that might take place on their sites. For users, it was frustrating, encountering limitations of brands' imagination, as they attempted to get help with nuanced issues or requests. 

LLM based chat bots (or agents) that had greater natural language capabilities addressed many of these pain points for brands and consumers; but, this improvement being limited to websites and mobile apps meant that the impact of this step change was constrained to digital channels. 

Attempts to bring this type of innovation into the voice channel began with IVR based automation that yielded even more pain for consumers. Callers were greeted by something that felt even more frustrating: Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Service, Press 3 to return the Main Menu. 

Voice AI, powered by AI agents, is bringing new capabilities into the voice channel, as we've seen in chat contexts in digital channels; and, the early results are showcasing the immense potential for improving brands' customer experience and reducing the pain of interacting with legacy IVR technologies. 

Agentforce Voice is a game changer for brands seeking to offer a more natural, conversational interface to customers who want help on their own terms, and we couldn't be more excited for our customers and theirs.
