We present a comprehensive study aimed at establishing: 
- Importance of universities fostering an entrepreneurial environment
- Challenges in assessing the success of entrepreneurship initiatives
- Develop a comprehensive set of KPIs to monitor and evaluate entrepreneurship initiatives within higher education
- Conduct a systematic literature review to identify best practices and recurring themes in entrepreneurship education and university-based entrepreneurship ecosystems
- Markers encompassing student engagement, entrepreneurial outcomes, and economic impact 
- Provide a practical guide for policymakers and university administrators to create and implement efficient entrepreneurship programs in academic institutions, ultimately contributing to enhanced economic growth and job creation

CREaTE works in partnership with core partners UTEP Learning Environments, the Center for
Faculty Leadership and Development and UTEP GEAR UP to foster, build and support
student-centered learning of high quality. This leads us to scholarly teaching, and the scholarship
of teaching (using research to guide continuous quality improvement of existing courses), as a
framework for pedagogical innovations. Through “thinking rather than just doing” (what we might
call reflective practice) we are, ultimately, building and implementing new frameworks and
paradigms for engineering education. That is the ultimate opportunity and the big challenge!

The Fourth Industrial Revolution Economy (FIRE) Venture Fellowship is a competitive program focused on training select Borderplex university students in venture capital for the benefit of the regional startup ecosystems. FIRE Fellows will undertake a one-year training and apprenticeship. Over the course of this year, fellows will learn about investment, venture capital, and startup entrepreneurship. Students will put this learning to practice by creating investment memos on real companies, creating their own investment theses, and working within their desired field of focused investing. All of this will be supplemented through curated internships with partner firms outside of our ecosystem. This will enable the fellows to gain valuable knowledge to our region and put that knowledge into practice.
