Maziar Rezai's Linkedin Analytics

Maziar Rezai is a design activist, researcher, strategist, and film critic. Holding a master’s degree in industrial design from the Azad University in Tehran and having studied as a PhD joint student at Köln International School of Design (KISD), he is currently a PhD candidate at the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK) and guest lecturer at Institute for Cognitive Science Studies and previous lecturer at the Art University of Tehran in Iran. He has given lectures and published numerous papers in English and Persian on various topics, including sustainable design, design thinking, design and culture, democratic innovations, and design activism. He is a member of The International Research Network on Design (and) Activism, founded in 2017 at the Design Research Lab at Berlin University of the Arts. Besides his academic work, he is a design strategist and counselor and has led several consulting projects. His first book, Design, and Democracy, which results from his collaboration with Prof. Michael Erlhoff (R.I.P), contains 12 texts from well-known design researchers worldwide, and in 2021 was published by Birkhäuser Verlag in Basel.
