Michael Canale's Linkedin Analytics

Michael Canale is a Managing Director with BRG’s Financial Services practice in New York. He has approximately 20 years of professional experience including bankruptcy, restructuring, banking, and private equity. Michael has an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. Michael has counseled his clients, both large global financial institutions and regional institutions, in a variety of projects, including business process improvement / automation, data analytics, transaction due diligence, risk assessments, and implementation of compliance and technology solutions. Michael recently lead the servicing oversight program for one of the largest private equity firms in the world, managing their operations and compliance programs, deployment of automated data analytics, transaction due diligence, and reporting to Senior Management and the Board of Directors. Michael served as VP of Finance for the Taylor, Bean & Whitaker Mortgage Liquidating Trust, a bankrupt mortgage originator with a servicing portfolio of approximately $80B. During the company’s Chapter 11 liquidation, Michael worked directly for the CRO and CFO, leading the bankruptcy administration, asset valuation and liquidation, trust cash management, preparation and filing of monthly operating reports to the U.S. Trustee, service release of 512k loans, claims administration for approximately $12B in filed claims against the trust, and the management and sale of a portfolio of forfeiture properties on behalf of the DOJ. Before joining Solic Capital, Michael was a General Manager at Regus (shared office space), responsible for sales and operations for two locations. While at Regus, Michael worked through the integration of HQ Global after its acquisition by Regus.
