Every time I look at a photo of myself with my daughter, I feel a little sad.

I worked a lot when she was little.

Too much.

Afraid that I would be seen as less committed to my job...

Afraid to be seen as less promotable...

Afraid to lose respect from my colleagues and employees....

But now I have regret.

And to state the obvious: raising a child is the most important job we have.

If you’re charging $150/hour after leaving corporate…

...you are dragging your employee mindset with you.

And it’s costing you (mucho) money.

Almost every former corporate woman I talk to does something like this:

“I’m charging $150/hour because that seems reasonable.”
“I quoted $2K because I was afraid they couldn't afford more.”
“I'm giving them different options so they can choose what they need.”

None of us really thought how to price our expertise until we started businesses.
So we did what we thought was normal.

❌ Hourly pricing ≠ Expert pricing
❌ Complicated pricing ≠ Expert pricing
❌ Improvised pricing  ≠ Expert pricing

Let's talk about hourly pricing.

When you charge by the hour:

❌ Your income is capped by your calendar.
❌ The better you get, the less you earn per project.
❌ Clients compare you to other “hourly vendors.”

Your clients aren’t buying time.

✅ They're buying expertise.
✅ They’re buying certainty.
✅ They’re buying speed.

They’re buying a result they can’t create alone.

If you help a founder land a $100K contract, why are you charging $2K because it “feels fair”?

Outcomes have value.
Time is just a container.

Here’s a better way to price:

💲 Define the problem you solve.
💲 Quantify what it’s worth if solved.
💲 Price at a fraction of that value (15–20% is a solid rule).

Solve a $100K revenue problem?
Your fee isn’t $150/hour.
It’s $15–20K.

That’s not ego.
It's economics.

And one more thing.

Stop giving away your strategy for free.
Free advice trains people to undervalue you.

This is a hard habit to break.
Trust me, I've been there.

When you charge properly:

✅  Your attract right-fit clients.
✅  You don't stress over every single variable.
✅  Your business starts to feel like a step up from corporate, instead pay cut with 4x the hours.

💘 Valentine’s Day is the one day men are expected to imagine what women want.
Flowers. Chocolate. Romance....

But what if instead of guessing what we want, they had to live in our body for 24 hours?

🔮 If I had one free wish, It would be for every man to experience one full day in a female body, physically, mentally, socially.

🤯 One day of: 
• Being interrupted mid-sentence and told you’re “overreacting.” 
• Calculating safety in a parking garage. 
• Doing 80% of the work and still questioning if you deserve the seat at the table. 
• Softening your tone so you’re not “too much.” 
• Smiling when you want to challenge.

I promise you, the world wouldn’t just become more “inclusive.”
It would become more honest.

💌 Valentine’s Day celebrates love.
Most women don’t need more roses. We need less resistance.
Less friction in being heard. 
Less penalty for ambition. 

The thing is that most men don’t lack love for women. They lack exposure to the invisible tax women pay daily.

And you cannot fix what you have never felt.

🔥 If men could live as women for a day, they wouldn’t send bigger bouquets.
They would redesign systems.

They would question meeting dynamics. Promotion criteria. Pay conversations. Domestic assumptions. Who gets interrupted. Who gets credited. Who gets called “aggressive.”

🌹 So this Valentine’s Day, here’s the real question:
If you truly love women, are you comfortable with the system they’re living in?
Because empathy is romantic. 
But only structural change is devotion.
