That's the world I'm helping to create! As the Founder and Board Chair of Roots Ethiopia, I'm dedicated to empowering communities through locally-driven solutions in education and job creation. The cornerstone of my work is a unique framework that turns grassroots insights into lasting impact. Our registered 501(c)3 organization operates with a simple yet powerful principle: Ethiopians helping Ethiopians. Our three core programs are: Self-Help Groups for women: Providing business training and support School Improvement Projects: Supporting over 31 government schools with learning materials and teacher training Student Sponsorships: Enabling 250 children to attend school and providing food support to their families What sets us apart? Our staff live and work in the communities they serve, ensuring that every initiative is truly local and impactful. When I'm not wearing the many hats 🧢 of nonprofit management, you'll find me: 🐠 Exploring underwater with my snorkel 🦜 Binoculars in hand, spotting rare birds 👵 Being a mom to 5 and an 'Abue' to my two adorable grandsons.
