Harvard University

Led AI development efforts for 3 major projects aimed at making healthcare accessible to underserved communities. First, an AI system to help radiologists diagnose cervical spine fractures in trauma victims. This technology is patented by General Electric and will undergo FDA trials for deployment on CT scanners in communities that lack trained radiologists. Second, an automated system to flag cases of intimate partner violence by correlating patient’s injury patterns with their medical history. Finally, task agnostic localisers for classification models used in medical settings. This was initially aimed at improving clinicians trust in AI systems. Used this to deploy diagnostic softwares for Covid triaging at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Further, published multiple research papers on this and other work at top AI conferences such as NIPS and MICCAI.

Research Fellow

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Worked with surgeons from Hadassah Israeli Hospital to develop an AI system to detect fractures. The system specialised in soft tissue fractures in forearms which otherwise have a < 30% detection rate.

Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)

Developed a low-cost defense system against Spectre and Meltdown cyberattacks. Simulated out of order executions and side-channel attacks to develop mitigation patches for Visual C/C++ compilers.

At one point I was I was doing all 3:

But my best grades, biggest research breakthrough, $1.5M…
All happened - 
When my time was most limited.
Having constraints forced me to connect ideas faster.

Psychologists call it the ‘scarcity advantage’-
When resources are limited:
Your mind gets ruthless about connecting dots.
Stanford prof Tina Seelig calls it ‘Creativity Under Constraints’.
I call it ‘Constrained connectivity’.

Constraints didn’t hold me back.
They pushed me forward.

They turned into something beautiful together.

Everyone told me that living my cofounder would be a disaster. Especially if my cofounder… is also my brother. I didn’t listen.

Some of that did happen 😂

But here’s also what no one saw:
- Knocking on each others doors to solve problems

- Picking different friend groups to create space

Living together didn’t just test our startup.
It tested us to grow. And with that:
It became our unfair advantage.

Because the truth is:
If you can share a roof and build a company together-
Without burning both down…
You’re probably onto something.

When I started my company, I thought ‘culture’ was a scam word. Today I’ve grown my team to 35+ people. And I see that I was wrong.

Back then I cared about:
⚡ Hitting aggressive launch deadlines
⚡ Finding ‘10x’ engineers
⚡ Writing perfect code

Turns out… none of that matters- 
if your team secretly hates showing up.

Here’s what actually moves the needle: 
-Trusting no one is quietly job hunting after a bad week
-Celebrating wins even if they aren’t on a dashboard
-Disagreeing without making it personal
-People who don’t throw each other under the bus when things break

As a former engineer, I know now- culture isn’t ‘soft’.
It’s the thing that keeps the company alive…
When metrics look dead.
And it’s the thing that keeps you from exploding…
When your metrics do explode.

I raised the first $1.5M for my startup- from my parents’ kitchen. My laptop sat between the toaster & chopping board.

Looking back, my parents weren’t supporting my dream.
They were supporting the grind behind the dream.

Because the reality is simple:
People- and investors- don’t fund your big ‘dreams’.
They don’t need to support your big ‘visions’.
They don’t need to believe your big declarations.

They fund your repetitions.
The boring, invisible hours….
Where you train yourself to bend reality.

The grind looks unglamorous- because it is.
Cold emails, rejections, endless rewrites.

But it’s the only thing that compounds into credibility.

So if you’re a founder, stop waiting for someone to ‘believe’ in your dream.

Start proving you can survive the grind long enough for it to become real.

Windsurf got a $3B OpenAI deal, then a $2.4B Google deal, then a $300M acquisition by Cognition- & the employees are mad at the CEO. I’m not. Here’s why.

Google reverse-acqui-hired part of it for $2.4B. 
Then ~100 employees were ‘sold‘ to Cognition for ~$300M in stock.
Cliffs were waived.

Everyone got something.
But it was still a 90% value drop.
Everyone was mad. Especially the employees.
Most were too heads-down to see the iceberg.

We love blaming founders when things collapse.
But it’s not always just the CEO’s job to steer the ship.
It’s every employee’s job to read the wind too.

The next time your company might ‘close to a deal’:
Remember to ask questions.
Hold everyone accountable.

Questions like:
👉 If the CEO leaves, what’s the succession & contingency plan?

👉 What’s my equity ownership percentage beyond just number of shares? 

👉 Is my cliff absolute, or can it be waived in acquisition or restructuring events?

👉 What’s our vesting acceleration or cliff treatment in the event of a partial exit?

Because in startups, hope is not a strategy.
In startups, terms can sink or save you.
So ask these questions early. 
Ask often.

Or get ready to clap at someone else’s…windsurf.

Here are the top 5 mistakes I made as founder going from $0 in revenue- to my first $1M ARR. Mistakes I wish I’d avoided:

👉 Automating too early
My customers wanted manual hacks they’d actually use- not sleek UX UI. Automating outbound also did not work early. I probably lost ~8 mo on this mistake.

👉 Pricing like an accountant
Every time I priced ‘fairly’ I lost deals. $1K/month hagglers churned; customers who paid 5x.. stayed. I lost ~6mo to learn price = confidence.

👉 Not being picky about customers
I used to say yes to anyone with a valid credit card. That gave me customers who pushed us off roadmap. This mistake alone probably cost 4+ mo.

👉 Releasing ‘good to haves’
I ended up shipping features that were shiny. If I had released only painkillers, I would have deleted 80% of my ‘nice ideas’-- and saved almost a whole year.

👉 Shipping to prove I’m fast
I spent the first 7mo in sprints. People praised my speed, but nothing stuck. The moment I slowed down to focus on insights, $ retention showed up.

I interviewed 76+ salespeople for my statup. My top 3 performers kept forgetting details in meetings. I almost fired them. 

Till I decided to do things differently-

I noticed things about them:
👉 They didn’t have color coded CRMs.
👉 They didn’t take perfect call notes.
👉 They didn’t always fill out BANT’s.

But they…
Remembered customer kid’s soccer game.
Remembered which customer had a hard day.
They remembered how they made the customer feel.

So I decided not to fire them... yet.

Instead, I built something for them:

In 2007, free credit scores sounded like a scam. Investors doubted. Customers hesitated. But Nicole founded Credit Karma.

Nichole went from managing a Pizza Hut 
To selling her home 
To taking a 60% pay cut 
To moving her family across the country: 
Because she believed everyone deserved transparent access to credit.


She faced a crisis when her partner pulled the plug 
She hustled to get the executives
She saved her launch with sheer persistence:

She did that when women in fintech were invisible. 


West coast investors said no to her. 
Silicon valley doors slammed shut.

Raised $868M in funding 
Was acquired by Intuit for ~$7 Billion.


And after 16+ years as Chief Revenue Officer…
Nicole stepped down. 
But her legacy lives on.



Today she brings that hard won experience to the next generation.

This isn’t about just fintech.
This is about creating opportunities for people who follow her.
