SAPPLPP was a programme of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), India; the programme ended June 2016, having produced a lasting impact on discussions and perceptions around small ruminant rearing in policy circles. Among the more tangible outcomes are a set of training manuals, posters and guidelines for facilitating poultry and goat-rearing by small holder producers; sectoral studies covering small ruminant markets, breeds, and the management of common property resources; best practice notes and policy briefs on a wide range of issues.
