A mathematician gone "soft". Though my love for mathematics and logic remains, I've come to appreciate the importance of psychology and other sciences (social and physical) in developing the fundamental human skill of decision-making and, within it, problem solving. In short, I am a decision + behavioral scientist. I study how we make decisions in real life, where we get it wrong and how we can do/be better. By studying how people act, make decisions and react to processes and incentives in their environment (self-imposed or otherwise), I can apply the knowledge and scientific method to design better contexts, processes and choice architectures that lead to better decisions and positive change. My work is tied to improved performance (long term and short term), productivity and sustainability. I collaborate with private companies and the public sector to help solve puzzles, from low product uptake to inefficient work habits, and craft strategies that work with – not against – the grain of human nature. As certified corporate trainer, I apply this knowledge to organizational settings to help teams boost decision-making processes, embrace more productive habits and reach their fuller potential. I'm also a visiting lecturer and guest speaker in executive education venues such as the George Washington University, and co-lead the European chapter of the Global Association for Applied Behavioral Science (GAABS). My work has featured in mainstream media including Harvard and Forbes. I hold a PhD in Decision Science from IESE, MBA from NYU Stern and BSc Math & Econ from LSE.
