Hello! I'm Merry Brown – a writer, speaker, mediator, podcast host, and philosopher dedicated to aiding individuals and organizations navigate difficult conversations and conflicts. My latest book, "How to Be Unprofessional at Work: Tips to Ensure Failure," offers a fresh, enlightening perspective on workplace dynamics. In 2021, after two decades of teaching philosophy, I made a career pivot and established Third Party Workplace Conflict Restoration Services, LLC (3P). The goal of 3P is simple: to train and empower employees and organizations to handle conflict swiftly, justly, and with a restorative, win/win mindset that treats all people with dignity and respect. Conflict is inevitable in any workplace. However, many are unsure how to effectively address these issues. My work centers on empowering individuals and companies to mitigate and manage conflict, transforming workplaces into spaces free of unmanaged conflicts. I aim to cultivate a culture that recognizes and addresses issues promptly and fairly. My non-fiction book, "The Food Addict: Recovering from Binge Eating Disorder & Making Peace with Food," provides a raw and powerful narrative on disordered eating. I've also penned two young adult series: The Exiled Trilogy, featuring "The Knowers," "The Second Fall," and "The United," as well as The Four Families series, which includes "Gold Manor Ghost House," "Crimson Hall Ghost House," "Silver Tree Ghost House," and the forthcoming "Serpent Star Ghost House" (expected Spring 2024). While I love writing and have a passion for helping people solve practical and philosophical problems, my heart is with my family. I adore my husband and my three boys. I am lucky enough to have my parents and mother-in-law live within a mile of my home. I’m from California but have found myself living out life in the sweet small town of Martin, TN. What else about me? I’m a sucker for design, color, and all things that shine and shimmer.
