I used to send and accept connection requests of random people.



The reason why I did that was because I had no clue of how LinkedIn works.

Then, I heard someone say: Your connection list is where you make the sale.

So I started sending connections to only those who:
1. Are my target audience.
2. I want to build relationships with.

And accepted connections of those who:
1. Are my target audience.
2. I want to build relationships with.

Results were pretty good. Trust me.

So, sending connections to random people, that serves no purpose is a waste of time and will only result in 0 sales.

and if you have already done that in the past, then clean your connections.

Simply remove those who are not relevant to you and your industry.

Does LinkedIn “about section” matters? (For creators)


LinkedIn about section comes right after your activities.

In simple terms:
It is about YOU.

So if any one of your target audience is super curious about you,
they read your about section.

Here are some ways to use your about section:

1. Use it to talk about your story.
2. Use it to fully disclose your skills and how you are trust worthy.
3. Talk about your mission.
4. Talk about what you do and mention client results or testimonials.

If you have no idea how to write it, then:

1. Take at least 6 big creators' about section
2. Dissect and study how they wrote it
3. Mix and rewrite using your story

BTW, most about sections are in the form of a funnel:
- Grab attention with problem or a story.
- Why your solution is the best.
- Call to action.

and there is no PROVEN way to write it.

Also,
you cannot track if your target audience actually read your about section.


P.S I had been super busy during last days of Ramadan. But, lets continue this journey.

Funnels are created based on your goal.

Let me explain with an example:

Suppose your goal is to increase followers.

Here’s how your funnel will be:
1. Content that solves a problem for free + a CTA to follow
2. Audience visits your profile
3. Check out other pieces of content
4. Decides to follow you if your content is relevant to them.

IT DOESN’T STOP HERE.

Now track if your funnel is actually working. 

Here’s how to track it:

Benchmark your progress:

- Write down the number of your followers before funnel.
- Create 1 week of content for your funnel.
- Track followers after 1 week.
- Compare how many impressions and profile visits you got.
- Calculate your conversion.


Suppose you have 70 profile visits and 10 followers as a result.

Use this formula:
Conversion Rate = (Number of Conversions / Total Number of Visitors) x 100%

Conversion Rate = (10 followers / 70 visits) x 100% = 14.29%

This means that out of every 100 people who visit your profile, roughly 14 convert into followers.

You can always test and try different funnels to increase your conversion rate.

There is no ONE PROVEN funnel.

What to post on LinkedIn (or any platform)

How many times should you post on LinkedIn? (Part 14) 


Every creator has its own opinion about this issue.

Some say:

- Post once per day
- Post 2x per day
- Post 5x per week

So what’s an ideal number?
The answer is none.

As a content strategist, I look at each clients content creation capacity (how much content can they create?)

Some can only create 5 pieces of content per week.
Some can create 7 or even 14.

There is no fix number.
It only depends on your situation, time and resources.

But if you do have the capacity to post 2x per day, do it.

Just make sure there is a big gap between your 2nd post (about 10 hours).

Remember:
Don't burden yourself. Enjoy the process.

“Why should I build a freebie?”

This is exactly what I thought as a new creator.

So, here’s why I am planning to build one:

— I need clear control of my audience.
— My social accounts can get hacked/banned.
— I want to build trust between me and my customers.

If I offer something for “Free” with an added bonus of “great experience”
It stays in my customers’ memory forever.

Do you need to comment to grow on LinkedIn?

The answer is NOT simple.

It’s complicated. Why? 
Because there are 100s of creators and they all have their own opinion.

Some creators will say “Comments helped me to grow”
Some will say “Content helped me to grow”

So, here’s my opinion:
Commenting can be great if you have time and energy to do so.

But, I don’t spend more than 20 minutes on comments.
Instead, I research and create content that actually stops the scroll.

So, no matter how many comments you do each day, it all comes back to how good your content actually is.

Because your audience decides whether to:
- Follow you
- Work with you
On the basis of your content.

But let’s not ignore the fact that comments are necessary in the beginning of your journey when your:
→ Reach is low
→ Impressions are low
→ Discoverability is low

You actually need that 1 Like or comment to boost your post impressions.

P.S. How often do you comment each day?

If you have decided to post content online

Your confidence will hit rock bottom.

"is it going to work?" 
"Why am I doing this?"

And when it happens, here's a solution: 
Go back to your WHY.

Why did you start? 
What was your goal?
What were you hoping to achieve?

And REMEMBER: 
Posting content is a long term game. 

By long term I mean 10 years+ and for some it's a forever game (Like GaryVee)

If you think you are only going to post for 3 years, 
Your confidence will waver. 
Your business will fail. 
You will never post.

P.S. For how long are you going to post consistently?

Your customer is on LinkedIn

But where are they?
and how do you make sure that they find you?

This is a common question for every platform. 
But, thankfully on LinkedIn you can actually see in analytics which type of audience is viewing your content and who visited your profile.

And the best part? 
You can actually find your customers and send them connections to build further relationships.

Lets suppose you are a web designer and you want to attract business owners, startups or founders to your profile.

Here’s how you can find active business owners:

1. Go to big creator’s profile.
2.Go to their content and then comments.
3. Scan comments and see headlines to find your customer (2-3).
4. Once you find words like founder, owner, go to their profile.
5. Don’t just send connection blindly. Engage with their content first if they post (or just send connection because if you found them in comments, it means they are active).

The goal here is to only send connections and accept connection requests of your target audience.

Why commenting matters on LinkedIn (and basically on every platform)?

There are 2 reasons:
For algorithm.
For engagement.

For algorithm because it gives a signal that your content is worth it.
For engagement because it builds relationship and opens discussion.

When you comment on others' posts, it encourages a conversation, builds relationships and increases visibility of your own profile.

If you are a beginner, you need to engage and show up everyday just to get yourself out there.

This HAS to be a part of your growth strategy.

Not only you get eyeballs from relevant audiences, but you also indicate the platform that you are active.

Being consistently active pushes your content to more people.

Engagement Scams on Social Media

(and how it is still a FAIL)

You must have heard about engagement pods and groups?

If you have not:
They are basically a group of creators that agree to engage with each other’s post to trick algorithm into thinking their post is good which eventually boosts their post to wider audiences.

But here’s the problem. 
They are cheating and they are still doing it wrong (HAHA).

❌ Most creators in those groups are at same level with similar audiences.

❌ Their content never solves any problem, instead they only give out list of random tools that they don’t use themselves.

❌ None of them are actually receiving any engagement from their target audience (because they don’t have one)

Pods will only give you a hit of FAKE dopamine.
You still need a strategy in place to catch your target audience’s eyeballs.

P.S. Are you against using engagement pods?

"Content creation takes up so much time, how do I manage?"


The only solution to this problem?
Build a system.

"But I already have a system".

If you do and it is still causing time management issues, then there's a problem with your system.

Here's how you can detect problem:

1. Write down all the tasks and how much time do you spend on each task (Ideation, Writing etc)

2. Do you ONLY do that specific task or switch between different tasks and sometimes scroll/use mobile?

3.Which task takes most of your time? Once you have the answer, check why that specific task takes so much time? What is your process?

Answer these questions to find the problem.

(Most of the time we are just complicating and switching between tasks).

P.S Do you have a content system in place?

Content that brings in followers is useless.

Unless…

You have a good offer for those followers.

So:
→ Set your value proposition
→ Study your competitor’s offer
→ Create an offer that is irresistible.

(but before that)
- Know who your target audience is?
- What problems or dream outcomes they have?
- Are they willing to pay you to solve their problems?

A simple offer > not enough.

You need to be "CRISP CLEAR" with your offers.

P.S. What offers do you have?

Engaging gets you impressions (from your target audience)

Here’s how:

Suppose your target audience is health experts.

Now, look for “Active” health experts on LinkedIn through search bar or inside comment section of big creators.

Gather at least 5 names and check out their profile. 
Look through their content and see what type of audience is engaging with them. Most probably its people from their own field.

From this step onwards, regularly show up and engage with their content to grab their attention as well as their audience’s attention. 

Now the goal here is to make them curious and engage back with you.

So, let’s suppose you receive 1 comment from their side on your post. This automatically shows your content to their connection and follower list.

This step literally boosts your post impression.
That’s why it is so important to be clear of who your audience is.
