• Prepare and deliver comprehensive information sessions about Memorial University, highlighting undergraduate programs, support services, and academic opportunities to local and national prospective students.
• Respond to inquiries from prospective students, offering detailed information on undergraduate programs, admissions processes, and available support services, thereby fostering a positive and informative applicant experience.

Domestic Student Recruitment Officer, Undergraduate Student Recruitment

• Developed and maintained strong relationships with local, national, and international employers to enhance recruitment opportunities for Memorial students and graduates, aligning with the institution's goal of fostering student career readiness.
• Planned, coordinated, executed, and evaluated on-campus career fairs, ensuring they met the needs of students and employers while promoting career development and engagement among students. 
• Worked closely with current students and graduates to develop individualized career plans, offering tailored guidance and support to optimize their employment outcomes and ensure successful career placements.

As Assistant Recruiter, I was responsible for: 

• Pre-screened resumes to fill 35 positions for CLS for various locations and types (Permanent or 
  Part-time or Relief)
• Booked interviews with potential candidates

River Rock Casino Resort

River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, British Columbia is the largest casino in the province of British Columbia. The casino is owned by Great Canadian Gaming. The hotel has a total of 396 rooms, including standard rooms and suites and it is situated on the river with a 144-berth marina.

River Rock Casino Resort has 1,400 employees spread throughout a casino, hotel, theatre and several food outlets. In addition to the day-to-day managing of our HRIS database (JDE), my responsibilities include:

As HR Assistant, I was responsible for: 
• Administered the recruiting process (posting vacant positions, screening resumes, telephone interview, coordinating interviews, reference/background checks and on-boarding) 
• Data entry of new employee information into HRIS (JD Edwards) 
• Collected provincial gaming license applications and ensured valid certification was held by all required employees. 
• Participated in the Monthly Employee Award committee and monthly job fairs
• Acted as first point of contact for employees to help with answering general HR questions 
• Coordinated with Payroll department in terms of benefits, taxes and contracts
