Michael Jacobsen has been a leader in entrepreneurship and the creative industries for two decades. As a founder of major international entertainment companies and an accomplished published author, he is recognised as a visionary in the arts, creativity and entertainment. He studied business prior to embarking on a career which began in financial services and banking. Moving into entertainment, media and property, Michael and his partners developed and operated a portfolio of entertainment, leisure and congress venues across the Asia-Pacific region and advised Cities and Governments in the USA and Europe on several iconic leisure projects. All of the venues rank in the top ten of their genre worldwide. Michael co-owned a major Asia-Pacific production company responsible for the promotion of a multitude of major concerts and special events in the region and later went onto acquire the global IP rights in perpetuity to the movie Dirty Dancing, which he and his team turned into a musical and international live entertainment empire. Having exited many of these ventures, Michael’s work today focusses on his own NGO as well as operating his Family Office. He is also Special Advisor to Governments, funds and Family Offices across the world. Michael undertakes speaking engagements on the subjects of entertainment, leisure and Web3 and is an accomplished media presenter, having hosted programs on News Corporation Australia’s Your Money and Sky News networks. Michael is an international campaigner for the creative sector which encompasses numerous endeavours. His goal is to support the creative and crea-tech sector and engender its elevation globally including with its transition to incorporate Web3 technology. His book The Business of Creativity espouses underscores this mission Michael’s long-standing love for and relationship with Europe and Central and Eastern Europe (Emerging Europe) in particular led to his pioneering work in the region for the past decade in the areas of creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, impact and circular economy To consolidate this work, Michael established Non-Profit NGO The Centre for Future Europe in 2021, with the mission to support Europe in specific sectors and regions, and to promote cultural, social and economic exchange between Europe (and Emerging Europe) internationally including with the UK, USA and Australia.It now partners with numerous actors including the EU’s European Institute of Technology(EIT) on various programs.
