Michael is a highly motivated individual equipped with academic knowledge of management, marketing, and leadership. Michael has experience in synchronizing and collaborating across various teams of individuals. This experience included but not limited to church and sports. In church, Michael volunteered as a mentor which helps the teacher supervise and monitor the classroom. During this volunteer experience, he showed the ability to lead others through projects and events that were being held in the church. Transitioning to his background in sports, Michael had a broad range of playing in football, basketball and baseball. His journey did not stop after high school as he shifted his knowledge of baseball towards a head coach position. Michael operated a youth team that encouraged these children about sportsmanship, leadership, and enjoyment of playing in sports. More notably, Michael has been able to demonstrate his leadership skills through an assistant management role in the retail groceries industry. He is vastly capable in promoting leadership development, assessing teams’ needs, and implementing intentional strategy that ensures the success of a team’s goal(s). This experience demonstrates Michael’s ability to work well within a diverse team, carry out exceptional customer service, communicate with multiple contributors and stakeholders, and perform duties efficiently when challenges arise. Michael has now obtained his bachelor’s degree in May 2024 from San Diego State University. He was awarded with a business administration degree with a management concentration. Michael is extremely diligent, dedicated and currently set to continue his professional journey and growth through Teach For America as an anti-racist educator.
