I worked at STARS IT as an Industry Placement Student. I worked as part of a small software development team providing full life-cycle development services to a cross section of the commercial side of the University. During my 12 month placement at STARS IT, I worked on various projects. These projects where based around systems within the University and the Halls of Residence.

During my placement, I used various technologies and techniques, which increased my abilities in programming. Using S#arp Architecture, MVC and NHibernate, C#, JQuery, HTML and CSS.

Barclaycard

I worked with the Right to set off (RTSO) team whose role was to access customer’s bank accounts and withdraw funds available; this was the legal right to set off their debt owed to Barclaycard and only  occurred when no continuous payment of debt had been made. Again, this was target driven based on time per account, but also required a high quality aspect due to the financial impact on customers.

I worked with the SSU department, which is the support department to the collections department. I helped service the backlogs of Citizen Advice Bureau and third party debt advisors, updating  customer’s accounts with relevant information enabling the collections department to take appropriate action. This was a team oriented workforce which was target driven on the volume to  complete in a time period.

With over nine years of software development experience, I am a Technical Architect at Tangent, a digital transformation agency that works with clients across various sectors, including marketing, advertising, and finance. I lead the design and implementation of complex web solutions using .Net, Azure, AWS, and various CMS platforms, such as Sitecore and EpiServer.

As a Technical Architect, I collaborate with project managers, business analysts, developers, and clients to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure web applications that meet their business needs and expectations. I also mentor and coach junior developers, share best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and standards. I am passionate about learning new technologies and staying updated with the latest trends and innovations in the web development field.
