Over the past 10 years, I have enjoyed a career that has spanned from Higher Education to Technology. That journey has granted me many different perspectives as an event coordinator, building manager, helpdesk analyst, project manager, and project engineer. Across all of that, the most important pieces have always been people and communication. Call it a knack, but I love communication (a nod to time well spent with Toastmasters). I most enjoy talking to and serving people. In IT, service looks a lot like translating technology into plain language, deconstructing complex technical problems, and demystifying IT for the benefit of the everyday user. Perhaps it is the teacher in me, but I just love the "ah-ha" moment when we uncover a new tip or tool that solves a business problem or improves the user's daily IT experience. I believe it necessary to make IT accessible and applicable for where a business and its staff are today and scalable for where they want to grow tomorrow. My professional road map includes the ongoing addition of skills that blend technology, business, and technical training. Bringing these areas together enables a creative approach to problem solving business issues with technology in a manner both holistic in design and educational in approach.
