WHAT I DO: I make things happen; I get things done. I develop and execute "realistic" plans for emergency services responders. I teach other emergency services professionals how to improve their first response operations. I work to figure out the root cause of problems, anticipate the obstacles and develop the appropriate solutions. Analyzing the risks to the company, we initiate proactive initiatives, lowering the risk factors, preparing for the continuity of the business plans and employee safety at all levels. I am a Stuart of constant development and improvement strategies and tactics, across the board. WHY I DO IT: I’m a fifth-generation firefighter, following the footsteps of my father. My career has included roles as a local fire fighter and paramedic, Captain/Paramedic (Ret), a rescue specialist on a National Urban Search and Rescue Task Force, and currently a Fire Chief for a heavy manufacturing company. The guiding theme in each of these roles has been how can we develop and execute emergency services and plans, better and more cost effectively while meeting and exceeding the required safety standards for the Firefighters and those they protect. WHO I DO IT FOR: My career has spanned the municipal fire departments to federal search and rescue teams. My overriding goal has always been how to be more effective and efficient in providing emergency services at the local, State and National levels. I do it, because we are on this earth to always give back. HOW I DO IT: I’m a problem solver at heart. I look at any challenge as a problem to be resolved, whether its responding to an emergency, developing plans for emergency response, educating production or office workers, or training other first responders. My goal is to find the root cause of the challenge, develop clear operational guidelines to efficiently address the challenge, institutionalize the guidelines, and train the team to implement them. My belief is to maintain a circle of people you admire, respect, that are smart, realistic and are operators when the time requires their assistance. High energy, resilience, tenacity and remaining humble are the basics I thrive to have and be everyday... As explained to me by two very inspirational men during a recent coaching session, "leadership is a journey..." I take that to heart...
