As a structural engineer and project manager at Burns & McDonnell, I specialize in the design and construction of projects in the electric vehicle infrastructure market. I’m passionate about helping our clients which includes transit agencies, utilities and auto companies with their electrification infrastructure planning and moving their projects from concept to deployment smoothly and efficiently. At Burns & McDonnell, we have professionals experienced in EV charging location optimization, prediction of energy use and energy costs, vehicle-to-grid integration, communication network design, budget planning, and transportation and route planning. I started at Burns & McDonnell in 2014 as a structural engineer. My background includes the design and construction of electric vehicle infrastructure, parking garages, substation buildings, critical data centers, commercial facilities, such as 5-story office buildings, health care equipment facilities and manufacturing plants. Prior to joining Burns & McDonnell, I received my bachelor’s degree at Kansas State University in architectural engineering. I furthered my structural engineering education by obtaining my master’s degree from Virginia Tech. While at Virginia Tech, I also obtained my master’s degree in Business Administration to balance my technical expertise with a business degree. The MBA has allowed me to familiarize myself with the project management and business development side of the engineering industry. When I’m not working, I enjoyed spending time with my wife and two kids. Our two young kids fill up most of our time with their endless supply of energy. We also love visiting our extended family throughout the Midwest which includes road trips, lake trips and camping.
