A little Hot Take Tuesday 🌶️: Integration will remain as important (and as challenging) with AI as it has been with building [mar]tech stacks.

Even in the 2025 State of Martech by Scott Brinker and Frans Riemersma, integration continued to be the biggest challenge.

Re: AI, this remains true. It's not just about building the best agents. It's about building the best agents that work with other agents within and across systems.

So imo, the best in agent-to-agent will WIN. Stay tuned for more 👀

I’ve been superrrr fortunate to have had incredible mentors throughout my career. People who not only taught me WHAT to do, but HOW to show up 🙏 .

One of my very first mentors (and bosses!) was Leora Halpern Lanz, ISHC 🎗️ during my internship at HVS when I was a junior in college. She helped shape how I think about marketing, leadership, and the power of genuine connection.

So it’s been amazing to see all the big things she’s doing including the launch of her new book, Developing Your Marketing Mindset. 💜

If you’ve ever worked in hospitality, you know it’s one of the best foundations for marketing and even product marketing.
It teaches you to care deeply about people, anticipate needs before they’re spoken, and create experiences that make others feel seen and valued.

That’s what great marketing does too.
It’s empathy, strategy, and service all rolled into one.

Had a lovely coffee chat with Meghan McNamara and Zach Messler 🤘👊💥😎 yesterday (IRL!).  And right as we were leaving, Zach said something that really hit home (though he always does 🤣).

We were talking about specific words using in messaging/positioning and why they shouldn't be used. One that really stuck out to me was "empower."  

Zach mentioned that "empower" or "enable" actually moves ownership TO someone else.  And that hit.

Because “empower” sounds inspiring, and I've DEFINITELY used it in my messaging many times before, but it quietly implies you hold the power and are choosing to hand it off.

He's so right... “empower/empowerment” is weird when you’re talking about tools.  Tools don’t empower people.  People empower people.

A tool can’t motivate you. It can’t teach you. It can’t cheer you on or help you grow.  A tool just sits there until a human takes ownership to use it, share it, and make it valuable. And so many tools really do just sit there...smh

So when companies say their software “empowers marketers,” or “empowers data teams”… what they really mean is, we hope humans actually use it. 😅

Empowerment isn’t about giving someone power they don’t already have.  It’s about creating the conditions where they can [confidently] own it.

And of course, I asked AI to pull some examples of B2B tech homepages that use "empower" or "enable"
• Workday — “Workday empowers your entire organization to work more effectively…” 
• ServiceNow — “Empower employees with ServiceNow AI Agents” (homepage hero module)
• Box — “Capabilities that empower developers to build applications..."
• Okta — “The Okta and Auth0 Platforms enable secure access, authentication, and automation…”

But also...Coupa, SAP product pages, Amplitude solutions pages all use “empower,” though not always on the root homepage, etc.

YAY for keeping the humans in the loop 🙌.

Missed yesterday's #PromptOfTheWeek because I was celebrating a friend getting married in San Miguel, Mexico (which was INSANE, like wow what a gorgeous and vibrant city).

So..here is a belated one! Last week, our PMM team was deeeeeep in a Gartner MQ submission 😅. And while there are some agents we were testing out in Glean or Claude Code, we did everything manually (without AI!).

That being said, this prompt could have helped, and I'd be curious how it works for my fellow PMMs in the analyst relations world!

Analyst Criteria Mapping (MQ/Wave)
• What it is: A fast way to map your capabilities to each evaluation criterion, surface proof gaps, and plan mitigations.
 • How to use it:
1️⃣ Paste the analyst criteria.
2️⃣ Paste your capability list (features, services, SLAs, customers, integrations).
3️⃣ Run the prompt to produce a matrix and an action plan.

Copy-paste prompt:

You're an analyst relations strategist. 
Goal: Map our capabilities to the evaluator's criteria, find proof gaps, and propose mitigations without inventing evidence.

INPUT A: [Paste MQ/Wave criteria verbatim]
INPUT B: [Paste our capability list: features, services, certifications, integrations, reference customers, case studies, metrics, SLAs]

Create a matrix with columns:
- Criterion
- Our capability (short, factual)
- Proof asset (link/name/owner; cite ONLY real assets)
- Gap/Risk (why evidence is weak or missing)
- Mitigation plan (specific action, owner, ETA)

Then output:
1) Top 5 risky gaps with quickest credible mitigations.
2) New assets to produce (type, owner, due date).
3) A 150-word narrative tying our strengths to the criteria.

Rules:
- Do not fabricate assets or results.
- Prefer quantified proof (benchmarks, SLAs, audited metrics) over claims.
- Flag any claims that need Legal/InfoSec review.
- Format matrix in Markdown.
Pro tip: Add a second pass that asks the AI to “tighten wording to the provider’s voice and remove adjectives that sound like marketing.” It keeps the tone analyst-friendly.

If your marketing team keeps rewriting your use case page, pause for a second.

It’s probably not a messaging issue. And it’s probably not that your product is hard to explain.

What’s really happening is that new use cases are trying to surface, and your page just can’t keep up.

The good news? That’s not a failure. That’s progress.
✖ Product marketing tells the “why.”
✖ Sales shows the “how.”
 ✅ Use cases reveal the “where," aka where your product fits in the buyer’s real world.

When your use case pages work, sellers actually use them because they finally speak the same language as the buyer. And I almost have PTSD from the number of pages I've seen (and maybe even created in the past) for a use case that just doesnt quite 'get it'

With only a couple months left in the year, your GTM teams are working HARD to win those final deals before the holidays.   As a recovering sales rep, I know this feeling all too well. And a product marketer, you might be thinking "...but how can I help??"

So this for #WorkflowWednesday, I wanted to think through an idea 👀 an AI Competitive Intel Sprint for live deals mentioning competitors. 

Here's what I'm thinking...

Goal: Arm Sales and Execs with battlecards, differentiated messaging, and deal-specific insights within 24–48 hours of a competitor mention so you can win late-stage deals and protect renewals.

Step-by-Step Workflow
1️⃣ Identify Hot Deals
• Pull all opportunities in CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) updated in the last 10 days with competitor fields populated.
• Filter by stage ≥ “Evaluation” or “Negotiation.”
• Export deal notes, call transcripts, and emails.

Also, add Gong filters for all competitor mentions, and automate those into Slack using Zapier or Retellio.

2️⃣ Auto-Summarize Competitive Context
Use ChatGPT or Claude with this prompt:
“Analyze these sales call notes and summarize:
• What competitor(s) were mentioned?
• What differentiators matter most to this buyer?
• What risks or misperceptions exist about our product?
• What next step could change the deal outcome?”
• Feed in multiple deals at once to detect patterns (“X competitor is undercutting on price,” “Y competitor’s implementation speed is appealing,” etc.).

🧠 Tool tip: Connect Gong/Chorus → Zapier → Google Sheet → ChatGPT API for daily auto-summary refresh.

3️⃣ Generate Tailored Competitive Battlecards
Now that you know what’s actually being said, have AI generate short, contextual battlecards:
Prompt:
“Create a 1-slide battlecard for [Competitor] highlighting 3 differentiators relevant to [buyer persona] in the [industry] vertical, based on these recent deal notes.”
Include:
• Key strengths to acknowledge
• Misperceptions to correct
• 2–3 proof points or ROI stats
• A closing narrative hook (“Unlike [Competitor], we…”)
Optional: use Canva Magic Write or Gamma to instantly make it visual for Slack/Deck sharing.

4️⃣ Surface Intel to Reps Instantly
Auto-post summaries and battlecards to your #competitive-intel Slack channel or Sales Enablement Hub (Notion, Guru, Highspot).
Tag deal owners directly:
 “@JaneSmith here’s the latest [Competitor] narrative with customer proof. Use for tomorrow’s demo.”
You can automate this using a Zapier flow triggered by the CRM competitor field update.

5️⃣ Close the Loop with Trends
End of week, ask AI:
“From the last 10 days of deals mentioning competitors, summarize:
• Top 3 competitors
• Their most common positioning claims
• Our most effective counterpoints
• Any new feature or pricing trends observed.”

Send that digest to Sales Leadership, Product, and the Exec team. It creates a real-time feedback loop from the field → PMM → GTM.
