I'm passionate about art, design, and connecting with people. I learned the hard way that suppressing my love for painting, waiting for the "right time," was the surest way to die a slow death. I initially embarked on a career in accounting, considering it a safe choice. However, I soon found it leaving me yearning for a more fulfilling pursuit beyond the realm of spreadsheets. Transitioning to the construction and design industry allowed me to explore my passions, combining the creative and the analytical. My clients led me to the realm of coaching and healing and there I discovered my true calling. Here is what I have learned: * Being authentic & wholly you is imperative - avoid compartmentalizing yourself or shrinking to fit others' expectations. * Balancing career, family, and activities does not guarantee inner fulfillment. It may fulfill societal expectations but not your personal satisfaction and happiness. * Prioritize building a solid internal foundation. Recent years have highlighted the importance of mental, emotional and physical self-care. * Being too 'other-focused' can disconnect you from your passions and sources of inspiration. At the start I mentioned my three passions: art, design, & people. The common thread is potential: The potential a blank canvas offers to express beauty or evoke a feeling. Think of da Vinci’s, Mona Lisa, or Munch’s, The Scream. The way a well-planned renovation provides a homeowner form & functionality, that translates to a sanctuary to unwind in or a haven for entertaining. Or both. Human potential is the most seductive of all. Understanding why we say & do what we do, while also understanding what truly engages us is an invitation to be fully alive. Being present & making choices from that space allows us to let go of what doesn’t serve us & achieve more than we thought possible. Think of it as an internal renovation. Things that light me up: Working with phenominal women and men in transition – career, leadership roles, retirement, relocation & divorce. Preparing future leaders through leadership workshops, volunteering, & the Developing Capable People program. All things art & designing spaces. Reiki. Lots of reiki.
