Most of my career has been in the IT and mobile industries working for some of South Africa’s largest corporate companies. My experience is primarily in heading up sales, marketing and support teams. I have always had a passion for education, which lead me to ventured out on my own in 2018 by starting a training company, Dazzle Courses. During the initial lockdown in 2020, I came to the quick realisation that to remain relevant, changes had to be made, and so the journey of creating a learning and teaching marketplace began. Dazzle is in partnership with an award-winning Learning Management System, where I host the courses that I have created, but even more exciting, it is a course marketplace for other course creators and a place where individuals and companies can go to for quality, digital courses at a reasonable price. I am a believer in life-long learning and that education should be available to all, irrespective of a person's social economic position, it is for this reason that I have become involved in Partners for Possibilities, an organization that connects business leaders with school principals in disadvantaged areas. I am also passionate about the way children are taught and that understanding their emotions is imperative, to this end, I am a member of Urban Assembly who promote social emotional learning. There is no doubt that small business is the key to future employment in South Africa. Promoting small business within the Western Cape is a necessity. I am one of the committee members of the Cape Chamber of Commerce – Tygerberg Chapter, where this is a key discussion.
