An early Uber employee and homeowner, Michelle helped launch Uber in Paris at a time when no one outside of the US have heard of them - and in a world where people did not want to put their credit card on an app. She also spent several years in France where she discovered a system called “viager”. As her own parents and family friends move into retirement, she realized that too many senior homeowners lack the funds to truly retire - but they don’t want to have to move or take out a cumbersome bank loan. That’s when she decided to adapt the viager system to the U.S. - and NestEgg was born.

I joined Paris right after its launch: the 7th Uber city ever, and the first international city. As an early employee I was in charge, along with all other "CMs", of the brand for our city. 

I was in charge of making sure #UberLove is a household name in Paris, which includes:

- customer support via Zendesk, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, you name it!
- press relations and outreach
- event partnership development, like Uber's partnerships with some of the hottest parties in Paris
- brand partnership development, like getting a Tesla on the Uber system for a week
- blogging about events, launches, updates, and new features
- emailing campaigns and promotional development, like getting riders to invite all of their friends to win an "Uber Happy Hour" on us
- identifying advocates, both online and offline, to spread the word
- coordinating with global engineering teams and other offices for regional and international brand campaigns
- leading up new initiatives in Paris, like launching Motorcycle Taxis on the Uber system in Paris, the first city to ever do so
- conversion of non-riders to riders and unhappy riders to happy ones
