Anavah, my company’s name, is the sweet spot between strength and humility. My work shifts thinking from self-care to capacity building, from surviving to thriving, and from asking for help to sharing gifts. There are no good or bad relationships with nature and we all must grow in that critical relationship. I value authentic conversation and dialogue. I work hard to create engaging workshops where all are safe to learn together. I came to this work as a wildlife biologist where I worked primarily in human-wildlife conflict. Through urban deer management, I ended up in the archery industry where I worked to shift beliefs around where the sport belongs and open it up to a wider audience. When I left the archery industry, I found ecopsychology and Individual Psychology and then I began seeing gaps in our connections to ourselves, to others, and to our beautiful planet. I am working to disrupt the stories of separation. I use my experience in uncovering my trauma and mistaken beliefs along with continuous study and communities of practice to expand and improve my work and the way I show up in the world.
