With all the fad diets, trending diets and "miracle" diets out there, it can be overwhelming to decide "what's right for me". There's truly no one diet that we can say is a "perfect diet" for everyone.  WHY? Because EVERY BODY is different! How we react to foods, differs for a variety of reasons. 
My goal, is to be able to help guide you to your best-feeling YOU. Maybe that feeling is when you get to fit into an old pair of pants, maybe that feeling is being able to run with your kid(s) again, or maybe that feeling is having enough energy, feeling rested and knowing how everything you choose to eat (and do) affects your body! 
Awareness is key! 
I recently received a certification in Food, Nutrition and Health to support my desire to continue living a healthy lifestyle. Like many people in the world, I struggled with my weight and between my lowest (in 2008, when I went to Miss USA) and my highest (in 2017) by which time I had gained around 60 lbs. In 2017 I made a decision to live a healthier life, and with the help of supportive friends in the Health and Fitness industry I learned to eat more healthy, exercise at a level that I was comfortable at, and create a lifestyle that I could sustain.  Like with most things in life, now, I just want to share the knowledge and lend a hand.

With "My Pageant Coach", emphasis is put on teaching a way of life, not just a way to win.
      It is important to me that clients are as invested in themselves as I am in their success. What I teach is a lifestyle not a way to act for pageant weekend or how to be  perceived differently. It is my expectation that the way one holds themselves on-stage be the way they continue to hold themselves in life; with grace, elegance and poise.

Inner strength and mental well-being is just as important as outer beauty and physical appearance when it comes to beauty pageants. I hope that each of client come, with an open mind, to work on all areas of preparation. A title will last 1 year, maybe 2 if you win nationals and 2.5 if you win Miss Universe, but our personality we keep with us forever. Who we are matters so much more than what we win.

I hope to get to know each client well, so that together we can show the world how remarkable they truly are.

I remember when I was 10, my grandmother who is originally from Cuba, taught me how to knit. You see, knitting became a source of income for her during the time of the Cuban Revolution. My grandfather was a political prisoner, my mother under the age of 10 was sent away to live with family, while my grandmother knit and crocheted women's garments to make a living as she waited for my grandfather, the love of her life, to be released. 

A skilled lady at the craft of stitching, she taught this impatient 10 year old how to do a basic knits with two needles and a simple crochet. Being able to teach the craft, is one thing, and to teach a child is a true art-form. She did an amazing job, and when I decided to attempt to crochet in my adult life, it was like riding a bike. My only hold-back, was that I didn't know anything more than a basic chain. Every fall, I'd get creative and come up with my own ways of making beanies and scarves without patterns...then post-Thanksgiving, I'd give up and put it all away. 

In 2014, 22 years after learning with my grandmother, I set aside some time to learn new ways, new stitches and try to understand the patterns. At the moment I've been working with arm knitting, finger knitting, crocheting and standard knitting. I produce infinity scarves, cowls, headbands, blankets and fingerless mittens, boot cuffs, hats, cozies, baby attire, and more!

I learn as I go & have fun with it. I'll consult some patterns for basic knowledge, then let my creativity finish the job. I really enjoy this art-form and hope that if you try some of my knits, you leave good feedback so that I can continue to learn and grow through my grandmother's teachings.

With social media I work to curate engaging content for all our social media platforms. I plan to grow and strengthen our chapter's social media presence by increasing engagement and followers. Strategically developing plans to support all departments within our chapter, and helping their voice be heard in our digital footprint. 

I leverage social media to support program and fundraising initiatives and constantly create new ways to highlight, recognize and steward all our constituents.  By developing messaging calendar that prioritizes Brand Equity messaging findings and serves up content that showcases various personas, I'm able to target key audience groups for engagement.

For many years I've been mentoring Latinas ages 18 and over for success in academia, professionals careers, life and Seafair.

Training the cohort of candidates for each year's scholarship program consists of focusing on all areas of competition and well being. Areas include: Interview Skills, Presentation Skills, Public Speaking Skills, Modeling, Etiquette, Personal Care, Public Image, Community Service Platform Development, and Networking.

From 2004-2015 I produced a yearly fundraiser event to raise money for the scholarship fund, and produce yearly coronation event, including dance number choreography and on stage judging (two interviews, creative expression, and evening gown).

•	Translated news-worthy stories for the Spanish-listening community from ABC news source, CNN and other affiliates associated with Sinclair Broadcast Group.

•	Edited an average of 1/3 of all news stories using Electronic News Production System(ENPS), a software application developed by the Associated Press's Broadcast Technology division.

•	Trained in iNews (news editing software application)

•	Offered feedback on the quality of segments and coached other staff members on how to improve segments. 

•	Wrote, edited and produced stories.

•	Organized material, determined area of emphasis, and wrote stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards.

•	Assisted in production of daily news show, working as a liaison between English-speaking Director and Spanish-speaking Anchors.

•	Worked with video editor to create footage to best compliment stories planned for newscast.

•	Created voiceovers for client advertisements, and story re-tracks.
