My main responsibility was to find new products within the company’s current seafood portfolio, potentially suitable to the different markets in the UAE. Once the multiple imported references from 41 different origins was analyzed, I decided to start working with Origins such as Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Ireland, Greenland, USA, Mozambique and Latin America. Their destination is the distribution in the complex network of HORECA, Retail, Palaces and the delegations of Oman, and Kuwait Products were introduced through the different commercial teams, through presentations and tastings, both internal and external and as a result, we succeed the import of 8 new references or species that are enjoying a lot of acceptance among Chefs from some of the most reputed restaurants in UAE.

Coordinate the implementation of a challenge Project to freeze pelagic fish from the 1st market fresh auctions to the delivery and shipment of the frozen goods to the clients. This project was based on freezing capabilities and cost efficient. From September 2010, we cooperate with the company Maramar Seafood S.L. trading and processing fish in outsourced facilities achieving a great success working with different species. In order to understand my role in this project, I set up the business plan and I found 2 investors to develop this “opportunity” that was planned. Across these years I have tried, done, completed, several, trading & cross trading operations with pelagic fish species, Squids, Octopus, Hakes, Tuna, Prawns and Bass & Bream sourced mainly from Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay, Korea, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Morocco, Mauritania, South Africa, Namibia, Iceland and Spain with destination in West and Eastern Europe and African countries as Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, Angola, Mozambique and Egypt, and with several attempts in South and East Asia, Middle East and East African countries. I have also developed and improved different “tools” in order to generate more value to the final product to get more revenues to the local suppliers in Spain. I coursed a master in Vigo that guided with high level of expertise to create and generate a better business Plan.

I have travelled to source many of this species to different countries in the world, and I have knowledge on processing, filleting, freezing, sourcing, trading, handling documents, and experience on foreign trade regulations. I have gotten sourcing experience from Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay, Korea, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Morocco, Mauritania, South Africa, Namibia, Iceland and Spain. Destination of the product was, Africa, Europe, Eastern Europe, mainly to importers and seafood processors, distributors. The sum of this experience, personal effort and dedication, provide me with and extensive contact network worldwide and a good understanding of the seafood industry.

In this position, for the majority of operations, since we get the order from our clients, with different specifications, we have to coordinate the operation with production planning due to the nature of highly perishable product; we followed a model "Just in time" between our productions to deliver the right product at destination processing plant. Client base was “big multinational companies for blending ingredients”, juice bottlers, and wine processors, located in Spain, France, Germany and Holland.

My professional career expands over 16 years in the seafood industry, where I have had the opportunity to develop my expertise with the different species across the products with origins from Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and America.
Combined with a varied experience and comprehensive understanding from international logistics supply chain and procurement, with extensive knowledge of import, export, customs regulations acquired across the multiple and diverse trading operations across the continents mentioned above. Additionally, in recent years, I have gained new skills to work and analyze the markets to not only identify the potential commercial opportunities existing in the seafood industry, but also following closely new product developments within the sustainability platforms and methods used in the seafood industry.
