Founder and Lightning is a pioneering venture builder. Working with commercially-minded, non-technical founders to start tech companies, launch new products and disrupt industries. Founder and Lightning has helped build 25 companies in the last 5 years to an aggregate valuation of over £150m.

I helped raise F+L's £2.4m seed round - so plenty of practice getting rejected, and gained plenty of empathy for founders out there raising.

Worked closely with portfolio founders on their commercial strategies, financial models and investor decks - helping them build scalable, investable companies. 
Established a wide network of pre-seed and seed investors, introducing our portfolio to them to give the best chance of successfully raising funds.

- Joined immediately post trade-exit: high growth period, lots of learning/chaos/fun
- Ensuring decisions made throughout the 150+ person business reflected commercial and financial viability
- Worked on building business-wide scalable processes to drive growth
- Built data models and dashboards (PowerBI) - extracting key, actionable insights
- Established Fourpure's Contract Brewing (B2B) department from scratch into a core profit centre: originating, negotiating and executing £1.5m in sales
- Commercial work across the Fourpure, Magic Rock, Little Creatures (AUS) and New Belgium (US) brands 
- Evaluating new deals, projects and strategic opportunities
- Finance partnering with heads of department; creating bespoke models, providing financial, commercial and operational analysis
