As Board Chair, Mike was actively recruiting Board Members, Corporate and Individual Members, and Volunteers. Boston Blockchain Association is a community of innovators, collaborators, and entrepreneurs focused on cultivating the promise of blockchain technology. In an environment of significant tech start-up and innovation talent, the BBA is building the foundation for Boston to become a global hub of blockchain. With a rich history and renowned reputation stemming from educational institutions like MIT and Harvard, who have been spinning out tech and business innovations for decades, the Boston area is a strategic center of influence in the global blockchain ecosystem. Mike was a member of PIMA from 2005 - 2013, was a meeting co-chair in 2006, '07, '08 and 2011, and sat on the Board from 2009 - 2012. A #InsurTech pioneer, Mike joined IdeaStar in the summer of 2003 and led the e-Commerce line of business within the insurance industry, primarily the life and health vertical. Mike achieved double-digit increases in YoY revenue every year by leveraging strategic selling, relationship selling, and socially facilitated selling. Mike was among the first bloggers, Linkedin users, and Twitterati in the InsurTech category.

Day-to-day efforts focused on marketing and sales of Insurance Technologies - Quote Engines, Agent Portals, e-Signature workflows, online policy maintenance, etc. Secondarily, Mike handled association relationship management, client relationship management, business development, contract negotiation, market research, and corporate blogging and podcasting. The primary target audience: CEO's and Chief Marketing Officers of insurance companies or large distribution insurance agencies. In those early days of the Web, it was a multi-step sales process, first discussing the Web and the value of e-Commerce versus traditional customer transactions via paper and telephone, and second outsourcing the coding to a specialist versus using in-house IT departments.
