I took 2 months off LinkedIn. At first, it was intentional, I was spinning too many plates. Between client work, Moving to a new country, And training for a marathon. Usually, I’d start the day with writing, posting and engaging on here. But suddenly, every time I sat down at my desk, It felt like I had to shut the outside world out And just do the work. And the days I didn’t post turned into weeks. Then months. It wasn’t that I forgot to post, It was that every day that went by made it harder to come back. I felt more pressure to say something good, to return with a bang. And with that pressure came procrastination (classic perfectionist tendencies). But here's something I’ve realised: If you look at the areas of your life where you procrastinate most, They’re usually the ones where you’re putting too much pressure on doing it perfectly. When really? So much of business, and life, Is just about showing up. Not as your best self. Just as your current self. Being consistently average will always beat being brilliant once, then ghosting for two months. So this is me… showing up again. Not with a viral tip or perfect hook, Just some honesty. If you’ve fallen off the LinkedIn wagon too, This is your reminder: You don’t need the perfect comeback post. Just start typing. Get back in the game. No fireworks required.
5 things I’ve learned designing websites for 200+ small businesses. Before we get into it... That stat is not lost on me! My sister Flo & I started this business from our kitchen table, Working 12-hour days armed with a Canva pitch deck and A whole lot of vision (delulu). We've rebranded and pivoted more times than I count, So these learnings aren't just based on our client work, They're from the continuous reinventions of ourselves, our business and ultimately how we show up in the world. 👉 Clarity converts. The prettiest site means nothing if your offer isn't clear. Clients want to know what you do and how it helps them, fast. 👉 Most people don’t know what they need until they see it. Templates and mockups help clients visualise their potential, And that's often the moment things click. 👉Your brand doesn’t need to be “perfect” to work. Some of our clients launched with a DIY logo and a vision. What mattered most? Messaging, layout, and confidence. 👉Design isn’t just aesthetic, it’s strategy. Every page, button, and section needs to guide Your visitors toward a clear next step. 👉A great website builds trust before you ever get on a call. If someone says “I already feel like I know you” when they inquire, your website is doing its job. Whether you’re just starting out or bringing your brand into 2025, Simple + strategic will always outperform flashy + confusing. And if you need any help doing it, comment below or send me a DM today, we have a few more post for onboarding this month, so why wait? Your dream needs a website!
Everyone on here harps on about consistency. (👋 Myself included - check yesterday’s post.) And while I do believe it’s important, I also know this… When you’ve fallen off the posting wagon, When it’s been weeks or months, When the algorithm feels like it’s forgotten you… Being told how much consistency matters? Doesn’t help. It just adds more pressure. More guilt. More “what’s the point?” You start thinking: – “I’ve broken the streak.” – “My community’s probably forgotten about me.” – “I have nothing good left to say.” And then… silence. Again. So instead of throwing fire on this flame, Here’s what I want to do instead: ✨ Give you 3 simple ways to come back to this platform without spiralling into “I’m not doing enough” mode. Because if you’re anything like me (recovering perfectionist), You don’t need more tips on why it matters. You need support to just start again. Here are 3 things that helped me: Lower the bar No hot takes. No epic carousels. No perfect story arcs. Just show up and post something small. A win. A thought. A behind-the-scenes moment. Let “done” be your standard for a week or two. Timebox it Give yourself 15 minutes. Write. Post. Engage with a couple of people. Then walk away. No overthinking. No spirals. Reconnect with one person Instead of broadcasting to your entire audience, write your post as if you're DMing a friend. Make it personal. Make it honest. You’ll be surprised who relates. You haven’t missed the boat. You haven’t ruined anything. You’re still very much invited to the conversation. And showing up today, even imperfectly, is enough. 🤍
