This is my 1st LinkedIn post of 2026.

And it’s a quick recap of 2025.

(Recap of an old year in a new one? Crazy, I know. I was off LinkedIn, living life. Bear with me 😅)

Top 10 highlights from my 1st year in tech:

1. Got my 1st tech gig (and another offer 2 weeks later).

2. Bought my 1st personal laptop (a MacBook). Before that, I was using my dad’s laptop.

3. Saw an inflow of 2M+ in a single month (1st time ever).

4. Upgraded my iPhone & got an international passport (used it to verify my LinkedIn & Upwork accounts).

5. Grew LinkedIn to 3.5k followers and got on the radar of top creators (like Danielle Mimoni) 🥹 

6. Hosted 30+ online weekly “Level Up In Tech” spaces on X that reached 15,000+ people.

7. Helped a client grow their LinkedIn from 34 → 301 in 2 months (with just 2 hours daily work).

8. Started saving in dollars, got a 1-year gym membership, and fixed my nails for the 1st time 🤣 (How do women function properly with them?!)

9. Ate a burger after months, if not years (Jasmin Alić is rubbing off on me 😅)

10. Attended in-person tech events and met some amazing people I’d only connected with online.

And that’s just some of it!

2025 taught me a lot about consistency, learning in public, and building a community that supports you.

I wasn’t perfect, but I kept going. And here’s my message to you:

If you felt like you missed out last year, or you’re just starting, 2026 is yours to shape.

I cannot believe I'm writing this post. Genuinely.

Today, I'm taking a bold step.

And that step is... 
I'm officially launching a Community! 💃

Before I tell you the 'what,' here's the 'why.'

8 months ago, I started hosting a weekly space on X (It’s called Level Up in Tech).

Every Monday (by 9PM GMT+1), people showed up.
And so far, it has reached over 25,000+ people.

From beginners to senior professionals, people join to ask questions, learn, and grow.

However, over time, I realized something:
Growth shouldn't stop when the mic goes off.

Weekly conversations weren’t enough anymore.
People needed a home for consistent, intentional growth.

So I decided to build it.

Introducing LUC (Level Up Community).

What is LUC? It’s a space:

- For builders, leaders, and trailblazers.
- For people who are serious about leveling up in tech and life.
- To ask questions, share wins, and support each other’s growth.

In here, we don’t wait to get lucky.
We build our own LUC 😌

That’s 3-4 notifications with your name and picture on it! Sooooo underrated!

Every time I’ve done this, it worked. 
That's why I’m growing steadily and connecting with amazing people.

What if one comment could change everything?

Sometimes... that's all it takes.

I say this because:

Yesterday, 1 of my fav top creators made a post.

I was there in the 1st 2 minutes, commenting and engaging.
Then, as I normally do, I scrolled through the comments.

That’s when I saw Fatima Khan, another top creator, say:

"I love supporting small creators."

Immediately, I thought:
“Hey! I’m a small creator. What if I ask for support?”

So I did.
I dropped a comment asking if she’d be willing to support me.

And boom! Within minutes, she:
✅ Followed me.
✅ Engaged with my post.
✅ Sent a connection request.

Just like that… we’re 1st-degree connections! 😭

Like, this amazing creator with 95k+ followers just connected with me! 😭 

Brr, it's sooooo cool! 

That said, my message to you is:

Opportunities are often right there, behind the words you’re too scared to type.

Sometimes, all it takes is one bold step.
Commenting works. Asking works.

Yes, you might get a “no” or no reply at all.
Who cares? You have nothing to lose.

I used to be scared of asking for help, advice, or support.
Now? I’m embracing the power of speaking up.

You should, too.

How do you land international clients?

Definitely not by getting more skills.

Most people think the problem is:

“I need to learn more tools.”
“I need more certificates.”
“I need another course.”

But in my experience, that’s rarely the real blocker.

What actually holds many people back is:

1. Weak positioning.
Your profile doesn’t clearly say what you do + who you serve.

2. No clear offer. 
People can’t tell how you help them in 5 seconds.

3. Low visibility.
You’re talented but invisible online.

4. Little proof.
No samples, screenshots, or results to show.

5. Little confidence.
You sound hesitant instead of assured.

If you want international clients in 2026, start here instead:

1. Clarify your offer: “I help X achieve Y”
1. Make your profile instantly understandable.
3. Share your work in public. Build a strong presence.
4. Comment consistently on posts of your ideal clients.
5. Work on how you communicate. Speak with confidence.

Skills matter but positioning gets you paid.

I dare you to work hard on yourself for the next 3-6 months. 

Commit to one thing. Give it your all.

I say this because many overestimate what they can do in a week and underestimate what they can do in 6 months.

It's a never-ending cycle I see all the time.
And honestly?
I’ve seen more lives change from consistency than from talent, motivation, or even “luck.”

To truly level up, you need to choose one thing and show up for it.

Even when it’s uncomfortable or you don't feel like it.

So here’s my Monday challenge to you:

For the next 3 to 6 months, commit to ONE thing and give it your absolute best.

It could be:
Building a skill
Creating constantly 
Improving your health
Growing your business or
Applying for opportunities

Do It, even if you’re scared.
Do It, even if you don’t know the outcome.
Do It, cause poverty is a horrible place to be.

Just do it, okay?! Bet on yourself.

P.S. What's ONE thing you're committing to?

1 year ago, I got into tech with nothing.
No laptop. No money. No guarantees. 
(This ends well, I promise)

I started out learning UI/UX design, but quickly realized it'd take months to get my 1st client, 

So I picked up another skill (Virtual Assistance) to put food on the table while I learned. 

However, juggling both became hard 🥲
I was learning, trying to earn, and building in public... 
All at the same time.

My borrowed laptop also didn't help.
It lagged.
It crashed randomly.
The battery backup lasted just 15 minutes. 

So, I had to pause design.
I had to find a way to survive first.
And I did by focusing on Virtual Assistance.

This went on for about a year.
Then I got my first personal laptop (a MacBook Pro) 😊

And now? 
I can finally lock in on design! 🤸‍♀️
No distractions.
No worrying.
No juggling.

Design is my main hustle again.
And I am committed to:

Learning and building in public.
Documenting my journey.
Sharing my process and
Talking about design.

Now, why am I sharing all this?
1) To be accountable to you.
2) To show what planning looks like.
3) To inspire anyone juggling, surviving, and learning.

Did you enjoy your weekend?

Yesterday, someone asked me an interesting question, and this is my reply.

If I were starting from zero and wanted to land international clients, here’s exactly what I’d do...

1. Fix my positioning first

I’d be very clear about:
Who I help
What problem I solve
What outcome I deliver

No vague headline.
No, “I do a bit of everything.”

2. Build trust before I need it
No cold pitching. No random DMs.

I’d show my thinking publicly:
- How I make decisions
- How I approach problems
- How I’d solve their kind of challenges

People hire people they trust.

3. Network intentionally, not desperately.
I wouldn’t ask for work immediately.

Instead, I’d:
- Add value publicly
- Engage with their content
- Be visible long before I ever pitch

Familiarity reduces friction.

4. Think in systems.
Landing international clients isn’t magic.
It’s positioning + proof + process + patience.

5. I’d play the long game
International opportunities rarely come from urgency.
They come from consistency, visibility, and credibility over time.

That’s the part people don’t want to hear.

Many try cold DMs and wonder why nobody replies. 
Been there, done that. It leads to crickets.

Then I thought:
"Hey, that person sees me as a stranger. Of course, they might not connect. In their shoes, I probably wouldn’t either."

Makes sense, right?

After all, connection isn't built by asking 1st.
It's built in, showing up 1st.

So, I flipped the script and came up with something I call 'My 4-step Comment-to-Connection framework.'

#1 Identify 3 creators you want to connect with
(Can be more, but a minimum of 3)

Focus on people who inspire you, 
Or align with your goals.

Don’t try to connect with everyone. 
Quality over quantity wins.

#2 Leave meaningful comments on their posts.

Add value.
Contribute.
Ask questions.

Avoid generic comments like “Great post!”

#3 Comment to be remembered, not replied to.
(This is one of my fav strategies).

Your goal isn’t always a reply. It’s for the creator to notice your name and presence over time.

Recall is everything. Be memorable.

#4 Stay visible.
(Consistency matters here)

Show up on multiple posts, engage with their content regularly, and become familiar.

Familiarity builds trust.

Bonus #5: Speak to the audience, not just the creator
(This is where you begin to build leverage)

Engage the community around the creator.
Find people you'd like to connect with.
Reply to other commenters. 

This way, you'll expand your visibility.

No DMs.
No chasing.
No desperation.

Just intentional presence.

Do this consistently and watch your connections grow.

3 Frameworks to Go From Not Paid → Paid

(save this for later)

1. Problem → Solution → Offer

- Find a real problem your audience is facing.
- Create a simple solution you can deliver.
- Pitch it clearly as an offer.

💡 Pro tip: Sell solutions, not skills.

2. Portfolio → Pitch → Follow-up

- Build a mini project that proves your skillset.
- Reach out to potential clients or employers.
- Follow up. Again. And again.

💡 Pro tip: Keep a spreadsheet of every pitch (date, response, next step). Treat it like your sales pipeline.

3. Content → Visibility → Income

- Share your learning publicly, even if messy.
- Post small projects, lessons, or wins.
- People notice. Clients message. Money follows.

💡 Pro tip: Don’t overthink content. Even screenshots of mini-projects or lessons learned get attention. 

I use these 3 often. Literally.
