Miriam Frances Stoner (soprano) is an Ohio Northern University alumna (Bachelor of Music) where she studied with Kirsten Osbun Manley and a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music (Master of Music in Voice Performance and Opera) where she studied with Mary Schiller. At ONU, she performed in scenes from Pirates of Penzance (Mabel), La Traviata (Violetta), and the title role in Susanna. Stoner soloed with the ONU's Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, and Men’s Chorus. She earned the Theodore Presser Award and Cantari Award for Outstanding Vocalist. Her CIM credits include Die Zauberflöte (Papagena), Alcina (Oberto), Dido and Aeneas (Spirit and Chorus), Der Rosenkavalier and Werther (Sophie). Stoner appeared with the Great Lakes Light Opera, in Alice in Operaland (Alice), Don Giovanni (Zerlina), and Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna). At CIM, Stoner studied with Dr. Mary Schiller. She then sang in Suor Angelica (Suor Genovieffa) with the Central Florida Lyric Opera, and participated in both the Varna International Music Academy and the University of Miami Frost School of Music Program in Salzburg and Vienna, Austria. Since moving to New York, Miriam reprised the role of Papagena in The Magic Flute at Opera America. She held solo engagements with the Westchester Oratorio Society including Mozart’s Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Bach’s Cantatas Wir danken dir, Gott; Nun komm der Heiden Heiland; and Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme. She also sang the soprano solo in Fauré's Requiem. She made her Broadway debut as Mama Judy in The Goldfish from Pluto at the PlayStation Theater. Stoner now studies voice with Janet Steele and coaches with Marijo Newman. Stoner transferred from a subsidiary of Signet Jewelers in Florida to their Herald Square location where she became a diamontologist and earned top sales awards. Miriam decided to shift focus and joined a mid-size law firm in Midtown as their receptionist where she began a multi-faceted career in law and finance. Her experience at top-tier firms in legal, compliance, marketing and recruiting provides her with a well-rounded knowledge of the industry. Her no-task-too-small can-do attitude, life-long enthusiasm for learning, and service-minded approach contribute to her success.
