Happy Birthday to Me! 🎉 I didn't post last week. 

I was fully disconnected, fully present in Rome

and it was exactly what I needed.

I celebrated another year of life, growth, and grace. 

I'm not the same person I was last year, 

and I'm grateful for that. 

Every challenge, every lesson, every breakthrough has 

shaped me into someone stronger, wiser, and more focused.

This year, I'm choosing differently.

- Peace over chaos. 
- Purpose over pressure. 
- Alignment over anxiety.

I'm walking boldly into every blessing with confidence, 

discipline, and faith. 

I know there's so much more ahead.

Here's what I'm believing for:

I resigned from my job against my will in January 2024.

I didn’t want to leave, but I couldn’t stay there.

For the first week, I was devastated, 

then I slowly got back on my feet.

I loved my job and the company I was working for.

But, things happened, I felt lost, not valued, 

not good enough.

Most of the things I loved from the company 

didn’t exist anymore.

So, I become a full time coach and that was the start 

of my new life.

1 month later, I got my first client.

Almost two years after I helped dozens of clients, and 

my company is now operating in the US, Mexico and Canada.

My business is way more than a business; 

is my way to make a positive impact in the world.

And I get to take care of my family and travel the world.

There were so many moments when I felt like 

I wanted to go back to Corporate.

And many days when I thought entrepreneurship 

would never work for me.

But I'm glad I didn't.

Never give up on your dreams.

4 years ago, I sat in my office staring at an offer letter.

It was a promotion that would make me HR Director.

Everything I had worked for was right there on paper.

I felt frozen. I kept thinking 

"They're going to realize they made a mistake, 

I'm not ready."

That wasn't the first time I felt that way.

The same voice telling me I didn't deserve it. 

That I had just gotten lucky. 

Impostor syndrome doesn't ask for permission to show up.

It arrives precisely when you're about to level up. 

When you're about to step into something bigger. 

So, I took that offer. I moved to Michigan, and I thrived.

Impostor syndrome isn't evidence that you're not ready.

It's actually proof that you're growing.

You've earned everything you have. 

And you're ready for what's next.

Yesterday I met Sairy Garcia in person for the first time. 

I gave her a huge hug, and said, “Thank you.”

She’s more than just a Global PM at Oakland Thrive . 

She is a great leader for business owners.

She’s been cheering me on since I began my entrepreneurial journey.

Because great leaders are life-changers.

They see your potential before anyone else.

They put you in front of the right opportunities.

They push you to do things you’re afraid of.

My boss gave me a $16K bonus.

This was back in 2018.

When I moved to the U.S. I faced the reality

everything was more expensive (way more than in Mexico)

insurance, daycare, medical bills.

We were living on one income.

My husband had to wait a year for his work visa.

I was stressed.

Not because of work

but because we were trying to survive in a new country.

My boss noticed.

I didn't tell 

she paid attention.

She called me in and said:
 

"I’m approving a $16K bonus for you. I know it’s been a lot.”

That moment changed everything.

I was already working hard.

But that level of care?

It made me want to give my absolute best.

She saw me.

And I’ll never forget that.

We need more leaders like that

people who invest in people,

not just performance.

Because when people feel seen,

they show up differently.

Me before starting my business:

"I'll figure it out myself. How hard can it be?"

Me after running my business for almost 2 years:

"I'll invest in the best coaches to get where I want to go... 

faster."

You can always make more money.

You can't make more time.

Every month you spend struggling alone

is a month you could have already reached your goal.

Coaching isn't an expense, it's acceleration.

The question isn't whether you can figure it out yourself.

It's whether you want to get there this year... 

or in three years.

Client: Sandi got promoted instead of me. Is unfair.

Me: Tell me about the last time you spoke up in a meeting with senior leadership.

Client: Well, I was waiting for the right moment...

Me: And the last time you volunteered for that high-visibility project?

Client: I wasn't sure if I was ready yet.

Me: What about when you had that innovative idea but didn't share it?

Client: I thought I'd wait until it was more developed.

Me: There's your answer.

Client: What do you mean?

Me: You're not competing with Sandi.

You're competing with yourself.

- Every time you decided not to speak up
- Every time you waited for the "perfect time" vs executing
- Every time you made an excuse vs taking action

You lost!

It's you vs. you.

The competition isn't out there in the office.

It's in the mirror.

Client: So what do I do?

Me: You already know what you have to do.

He got it.

4 months later, that dreamed role was his.

Not because he became more talented or smarter.

But because he stopped competing and focused on himself.

The person holding you back isn't your colleague.

It's the version of you that's still waiting for permission.

Last Thursday, Mexico won Miss Universe. 

I watched the event with my 9-year-old daughter. 

And I did it for a reason.

A couple of weeks ago, the Mexico representative, 

Fatima Bosch, was very publicly humiliated 

by one of the organizers, 

and what she did made me want my daughter 

to learn that lesson.

When Fatima was called "dumb" by this man, 

she walked away from the room (not crying or making 

drama) but with dignity and pride, and she said:

"It doesn’t matter if you have a big dream or a crown. 

If it takes away your dignity, you should walk away"

I'm a mom, and I just wanted to give her a massive hug. 

As a Latina, I know how hard it is to speak up. 

She was risking her participation and didn't hesitate. 

I wanted my daughter to learn that lesson.

I know our new Miss Universe will use the power 

of the crown to make a positive change in the world.

Thanks for the life lesson for all women, Fatima.

I came to the U.S. in 2018.

I wanted to keep growing my career. 

We arrived with 16 pieces of luggage, two toddler seats, 

a double stroller, and a big dream.

I was so excited. 

Soon, I started to realize how complicated it would be.

Things were not smooth. I wasn't welcome in my new job; 

my boss barely spoke to me.

One week in, and I was already behind; I felt lost in every meeting. 

Nobody seemed to care that I was new to this world. 

Meanwhile, my family lived in a hotel, then an apartment, 

then a tiny house, (all within three months)

before we finally got our home.

But I wouldn’t give up, I have to make it happen. 

I took 100% ownership. 

I built strong relationships with my coworkers. 

I started English lessons again. I asked many questions.

Three months later, we moved into our beautiful home in North Carolina.

In 2021, we moved to our dream house in Michigan, and 

I made my dream of becoming an HR Director a reality.

Then, in 2023, we became U.S. residents.

Now I help others navigate these types of transitions.

I get to build my dream life in this amazing country.

There were so many moments when I thought I wasn’t enough,

and many days when I felt like moving back to Mexico.

But I’m glad I didn’t.

Never give up on your dreams.

Posters on the wall say “We care.”

But your team doesn't trust posters.

They trust you.

Leadership isn’t about titles, long speeches, or fancy strategies.

It’s about the words you say every day

especially when no one’s watching.

Here are 10 phrases that elevate your leadership and earn real trust.

They’re simple. 

But most leaders avoid them.
