Here's the thing, there is a technical definition of middle class, and then there is a psychological definition. This chart only deals with the actual earning. 

I can guarantee that fully one third of the population of the United States would not consider themselves wealthy, even if their HHI says otherwise. 

The reason is simply that from the 60's through the early 2000s your barometer of success was the people you knew or who lived nearby. Sure you could tune into Robin Leach and the lifestyles of the rich and famous, but that was for 30 minutes once a week. 

Now exposure to mega-wealth and fame comes in 1-minute dopamine hits 30 times a day, every day, complete with push notification. What good is prosperity if you judge it against extraordinary affluence? 

Imagine telling someone in 1967 that in the next 60 years the wealthiest class will septuple and depression rates will quadruple (a regression analysis yields a positive coefficient, but statistical significance is admittedly marginal). Is that what society was striving for? 

Besides this proving the adages that money can't buy happiness, and the 1,800 year old teaching from Avot:  "Who is wealthy? someone who is happy with their portion" - maybe this speaks to a question of goals. 

Consider resetting the barometer. 

What if deleting certain apps from your life will increase your happiness and quality of life more than a 10% raise?  Maybe volunteering and being of service to others is a different, more meaningful and lasting form of reward, even if there are no reels extoling it. 

Define personal success on your own terms.

What is more unsettling, that even the print news is just copy+paste chatGPT or that this entire image could have been fabricated by AI and we wouldn't be able to tell?

Crowdsourcing companion AI app recommendations

Looking for something that is voice activated and can do things like take/transcribe notes, send me meeting prep summaries before a flagged calendar event, make updates to my outlook calendar, set reminders for me and can take actions like preparing an email or teams message which I will review before sending out. 

Maybe I won't get all these things, but hey you never know. 

Any suggestions? What tools do you use to stay organized and efficient?
