Sunday impacts our Monday.

This weekend was unprecedented.

Can I tell you how?

From 8:30 AM
Until 8:30 PM

People surrendered their lives to Jesus.

I've been a part of a lot things. 

None like this.

I watched kids.
I watched fathers. 
I watched mothers. 
I watched high schoolers. 
I watched college students.

203 people across four locations. 

What a way to start Holy Week.

God is at work!

So many incredible moments this Easter weekend.

But every time we sang these two songs, something shifted in the room. 

Thank you Compass for giving this guy a chance.

But more importantly, thank you Jesus for bringing dead things back to life.

Love when I show up in NWA and get to spend time with he and his fam.

We spent a little over an hour hanging and talking. He and Tatum Whiting are champions of people.

They are the type of people that after you hang with them you feel.

Challenged 
Inspired 
Better

Let's talk work and family.

This is me speaking at a school assembly many years ago.

Cooper (my daughter) was my assistant.

Why was this important?

I believe your kids need to see you operate in your gifting. 

They need to see you work. 
They need to see your passion.
The need to see your excitement.
They need to see your preparation.

Because....

It inspires them.
It makes them proud.
It will help them dream.

Cooper has watched me do what feel like I'm put on earth to do. 

I believe this will help her identify what it is she is put on earth to do.

Always remember you were created on purpose for a purpose. 

The people that need to see this the most are the people that are always watching.

Failure is a part of succes. 

If you’re not willing to embrace it then your not ready to succeed. 

I’ve failed…

Let me share a list real quick.

I failed as a son
I failed as a leader
I failed as a pastor 
I failed as a father
I failed as a friend
I failed as a sibling  
I failed as an athlete 
I failed as a husband
I failed in my finances
I failed as an employee 
I failed as a church planter 

But, these failures don’t define who I am. 

They are just chapters, not the whole book.

LinkedIn fam let’s embrace failure.

It might be the thing that changes our lives.

Do hard things!

🔟 mile run this morning.

Am I tired?
Yes.

Do my feet hurt?
Yes

Will I be sore?
Yes.

Will I be better?
Yes.

Is it worth it?
Yes.

Sometimes the best thing to do is the thing that you don't want to do.

I hate resistance.

But…

I’ve learned to embrace resistance.

Why?

Because, It could be the thing that helps you finish your race at a faster pace.

Gods voice is loudest when we are quietest.

“His voice like the sound of cascading waters.” Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬ ‭CSB‬‬

Ezekiel 43:2 "His voice sounded like the roar of A huge torrent. 

H.B. Sweet says "The voice of God is not confined to one note. Here it is like the thunder of the sea, but it can also be like a still small voice. It can thunder a rebuke; and it can croon with the soothing comfort of a mother over her hurt child."

Sometimes God will use the thunder in His voice to get your attention. But, He will keep your attention with a still small voice.

How do I find peace?

Why is God distant? 

I get that question a lot.

To be honest it’s a struggle of mine.

I think peace looks different for everyone.

Here are few things that have helped me.

Eliminate distraction 
Eliminate doing
Eliminate hurry

Elevate the art being
Elevate the practice presence
Elevate the practice of slowing down 

God is much closer than you think.

Leadership thoughts…

People that don't carry a prominent title, like boss or manager, but operate like one. 

Those are the type of people you want in your organization.

- They see a need they fill it.
- They see a problem they solve it.

They are not motivated by title or positions, because they are leaders.

My third half marathon next weekend.

My mileage starts to wind down a bit.

No more 10 milers 😤

As I was running today-
I thought about the journey.

The journey is something we learn to embrace. 

Many of us want the results. 

The trophy
The medal
The recognition 

These are all good things.

But, the journey-
That's where it's at. 

It's learning to enjoy it. 
It's learning to embrace it.
It's learning to not take it for granted.

You can accomplish goals
You can have a trophy case.

But the journey, that's where we become the best versions of ourselves.

HOLY WEEK FRIDAY: 

The darkest of days shining the brightest of lights.

A sacrifice. 

In Matthew, Jesus makes this audacious statement before He is crucified.

”Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will find it.“ Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭CSB‬‬

This action of following him would require us to sacrifice.

Our own ways 
Our own desires
Our own thoughts 

In pursuit of following HIM. 🙏🏼

In return Jesus would model what he said in Matthew’s gospel.

He would sacrifice…

His own ways
His own desires
His own thoughts

So that we could live.

It’s Good Friday.
