Working within a lean marketing team and generally serving as "ad tech whisperer." That is to say, my hands-on tech background (i.e., writing code and building ad tech) meets my love of marketing and I get to turn nerdy, esoteric digital advertising concepts into pretty much anything you can think of, from sweeping brand narratives and PR strategy all the way down to sales decks and architecture diagrams. It's cross-functional and extremely fun.

Co-founded Canned Banners in 2009 as a self-serve Flash ad builder. In 2013, I led the company's transition to a dynamic HTML5 ad platform. Designed, built, and iterated a creative platform that has since grown to serve hundreds of advertisers, track millions of products, and personalize display ads seen by hundreds of millions of shoppers.

Global marketing for Thomson Reuters awards programs recognizing high performance and excellence in the investment world. The awards programs included the Lipper Fund Awards, StarMine Awards, and Extel Awards.

The awards recipients and audience spanned both the buy side and sell side. This included mutual funds & portfolio managers, brokerage firms & sell-side analysts, and investor relations professionals.

The awards covered roughly 40 global regions across North America, Europe, and Asia. Our ridiculously small team published tens of thousands of awards results and executed 26 annual awards ceremonies around the world. The awards ceremonies drew thousands of C-level, MD-level, and other senior investment professionals (including actual British royalty in one case!) in 23 global financial centers including New York, London, and Hong Kong.

Product marketing and marcomms for StarMine Professional. StarMine offered a suite of proprietary equity (stock) analytics, which could be consumed on a standalone basis via a web-based application or as batch inputs into clients' own quant models.

At StarMine, I developed and launched very high-touch, personalized marketing campaigns for StarMine's target audience of portfolio and fund managers.

StarMine was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2008, at which point I transitioned into a new role. StarMine continues to live on as part of Thomson Reuters' market data products.

As Head of Innovation and Insights at U of Digital, Myles Younger leads new product development, tech services, and thought leadership to help scale the company’s educational offerings to new formats, new learners and new markets. Myles’ nearly 20 year career in advertising has spanned every facet of the business, from his time in client-side marketing, to his experience as an ad tech founder and product leader, to his experience inside the world of agencies and consulting. Most recently Myles was VP Go-to-Market, Data at Media.Monks and prior to that he founded the Canned Banners dynamic ads platform which was acquired by Thunder in 2017. Writing and speaking frequently on digital media & advertising topics, Myles is a regular contributor to industry publications such as Adweek, AdExchanger, and AdMonsters. Myles lives in Portland, OR with his wife and three kids, where he spends most of his free time doing dishes.
