In the spirit of the groundbreaking photojournalism epitomized by Brandon Stanton's "Humans of New York," I embarked on a quest in 2015 to delve into the heart of Columbus, Georgia, through the lens of my camera. My aspiration was to transcend the bounds of mere intrigue; I sought to forge a project imbued with uniqueness—a narrative tapestry woven from the lives within this vibrant city.

As I mapped out the contours of my vision, I found myself drawn to the ethos of H.O.N.Y., yet with a distinctive twist. Rather than brief snapshots of existence, my aim was to craft week-long exposés of Columbus's denizens, threading together the evolving story of the city's dynamic expansion.

In homage to the parallels with Stanton's work, I reached out and received his generous endorsement to pursue this endeavor—a gesture that fortified my resolve. My ambition extends beyond the mere documentation of stories. I am driven to chronicle the unfolding journeys of individuals, to illuminate the progressive pulse of Columbus, and to celebrate the elements that crown us the most forward-moving city in the South.

 Managing client portfolios through a change control perspective to include company policies, while ensuring they align with our contracts in order to protect our business, as well as our client’s business.

 Looking at every client system request/change through a contractual standpoint, ensuring we remain in compliance as well as meet all regulatory requirements.

 I am committed to delivering quality services that are responsive to our clients’ needs, both internal and external. In addition, my commitment includes prompt and proper research and responses to all internal and external change requests. Our standard ensures an accurate, effective and efficient Change Control process, which helps to guarantee the highest standards of service that are the hallmark of our relationships.

 Although I wear many hats, protecting the business is my first responsibility. I help maintain and update our call center's agent portal on their network, which houses all of the information they need to better service our cardholders over the phone, while communicating these changes with our Training team. Extensive work with Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Word/PDF software is frequently used. Project Management and Client Relations are other key roles I play in order to ensure every area is working together to make a lasting systematic change while maintaining a strong relationship with our clients.

My duties include designing, developing and supporting our company's vision for learning and training. I work closely with Call Center Director's, Managers and Leads to develop online and technology-based instructional environments and resources while anticipating the needs of our clients. I believe in putting our customers and people first, creating a successful environment by setting our agents up for success. I analyze agent learning needs as well as the development and functionality of our LMS (learning management system) Intradiem, in order to meet the needs of our agents, trainers and management staff. 

As a liaison to Intradiem, I manage our training system through administration, as well as offer our call center agent's and senior management solutions through daily reporting, system analysis and quality control. I work hand in hand with Intradiem's Success Managers in order to further learn our system's details. It is my responsibility to know how to correct issues systematically by coordinating with Intradiem's Integration Managers in order to resolve, prevent and investigate system issues. Finally, as an IVS Design Engineer, I manage our LED Wallboard Message Board screens located around our building. I am in charge of creating and managing image slides through Photoshop, Power Point and Captivate while inserting the final product through our IVS Design software. It's a sure fire way to keep everyone in the building up to speed with current corporate information.

I'm the great-grandson of Pancho Villa, the revolutionary general who fought against empire and inequality.

Today, I continue that resistance, not with rifles, not by riding coat tails, but with code and Decolonial education. 

As an Afro-Indigenous technologist, I disrupt the digital systems that reproduce colonial violence. I build AI that remembers our ancestors. That resists Colonial bias. That liberates us all.

I don’t reform broken systems. I expose them. Audit them. Dismantle them. And then I build tech rooted in collective memory, cultural resilience, and anti-colonial truth to help you build something new, beautiful, and sustainable. 

My work doesn’t aim to make power comfortable, it exists to make liberation unavoidable.

Over the next 30 years, I’m co-creating a future where ethical, decolonized technology isn’t optional, it’s standard. A future where systemic accountability, intersectional equity, and community care are coded into the core.

This future isn’t coming. It’s already underway.

I partner with organizations, especially those led by or accountable to Black, Indigenous, Brown, queer, disabled, and system-impacted communities, that are ready to move beyond symbolic DEI and into deep systemic reconstruction.

What that looks like:

Dismantling bias in hiring algorithms that reproduce anti-Blackness, ableism, transphobia, and classism.

Auditing AI systems for racial harm and structural erasure.

Rewriting policy through anti-colonial, trauma-informed, and justice-centered governance models.

Designing ethical tech that reflects the lives, bodies, and brilliance of those most often left out of “innovation”.

DEIBA isn’t a checklist. It’s a compass.
And if you’re not willing to center those most harmed, you’re not building justice, you’re replicating harm.

I’m not here to help institutions perform.
I’m here to help them evolve, or face the mirror.

If you ever think your voice doesn’t matter, let me tell you a story.

In 2020, after Ahmaud Arbery was hunted and murdered in broad daylight for doing what Black men aren’t “allowed” to do in America, exist freely, I created a petition. I was angry. I was grieving. I knew this could happen to my kids. I was done watching another Black life stolen without consequence. This happened three hours away from where I lived. Georgia didn’t even have a hate crime law at the time.

Let that sink in.

So I did what I could: I started a change.org petition demanding that Georgia pass hate crime legislation to honor Ahmaud’s life and hold his murderers accountable. My petition exploded. 

Over 11,000 people signed in one week. We refused to stay silent. And then, something wild happened. Georgia State representative Calvin Smyre brought my petition to the floor. It was used to introduce the very bill that made hate crimes officially illegal in Georgia. We never thought Hyper-Republican Brian Kemp would ever sign it, but he did. 

HB 426 passed. Because of our collective voice, Georgia had a hate crime law for the first time in history. And that law? It’s what allowed Ahmaud’s killers to be charged and sentenced to life in prison, without parole, on both state and federal levels. But the impact didn’t stop in Georgia. President Biden used the momentum from that same push to pass national hate crime protections.

Today, hate crimes are illegal in all 50 states.
And it started with one petition. One voice. One refusal to let another Black man’s death be written off as “just another tragedy.” This week, Gregory McMichael, his son Travis McMichael, and their neighbor William "Roddie" Bryan were denied their appeal. A U.S. appeals court panel recently upheld the convictions. 

So if you’ve ever doubted yourself, if you’ve ever thought, “What can I do?” Let this be your reminder:

Your voice can move laws. Your grief can birth justice. Your action can change an entire country.

This isn’t about politics. Laws aren’t perfect. But our efforts bring change. It’s about power, the kind we carry when we stand up, speak out, and refuse to look away. Activism isn’t about being in the spotlight. It’s about doing the work because it matters. 

Rest in power, Ahmaud Arbery. We will never stop saying your name. And we will never stop fighting for the world you deserved to run through, free, unbothered, and alive.

The Epstein documents released this week by the United States Oversight Committee confirm what many of us have long understood. This was never just about one man. This was a system functioning exactly as it was built.

Epstein wasn’t a financier. That title was always a deflection. What he really was, and what he represented, was far more dangerous. He acted as a network operative embedded within the scientific community, academia, intelligence sectors, and elite governance. He was funded by Harvard University. He was welcomed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was protected by prosecutors. He was praised by scientists and Gurus like Deepak Chopra. He was shielded by presidents and surrounded by royalty. He certainly didn't hide from power. He taught it how to stay quiet.

He operated at the convergence of five colonial infrastructures:

Scientific colonialism
- Eugenics disguised as futurism. He funded neuroscience, AI, and eugenics with the goal of racialized control.

Settler capitalism
- He exploited youth, labor, and bodies while laundering wealth through offshore accounts and shadow networks.

Carceral collusion
- He was given immunity deals while survivors were criminalized. Police and prosecutors looked the other way.

Epistemic violence
- He used academic prestige to sanitize harm. Figures like Stephen Hawking associated with him. Think tanks and science summits became spaces where grooming could occur under the guise of intellectual exchange.

Pedagogical grooming of the elite class
- He trained Harvard, MIT, and Wall Street how to participate silently. And he offered intelligence agencies a tool for blackmail, leverage, and manipulation.
To the scientific elite, he was a funding source with no ethical oversight. George Church at Harvard accepted his money. The Program for Evolutionary Dynamics at Harvard was built with his donations. MIT Media Lab took hundreds of thousands from him even after his conviction. Neri Oxman’s lab was linked to his foundation. Joi Ito resigned for his role in facilitating the relationship. 

He also served as a political fixer, a vault of secrets, and a gateway for influence. Media companies ignored or buried his abuses for decades. Why? Because he was useful to them. This wasn’t some genius in the shadows. This was institutionalized complicity across the highest levels of science, governance, and capital. The story was never just about Epstein. The story is about who protected him. And why. 

My heart aches reading these papers. My heart aches for the victims listed in these files, and those who never got the chance to speak. 

This man was a link to the entire global system of white supremacy. These files are enough to bring down the whole global system. What makes this worse, is that Democrats and Republicans have been privy to these documents since the early 2000's. Don't forget what's at stake here.

This post isn't about anyone specifically, but I have noticed a pattern lately. One that happens way too often.

People of the global majority do not owe our white brothers and sisters explanations on the system of white supremacy.

Our emotional labor is not free. Your probing questions? Your demand for constant clarification...is it curiosity, or is it intrusion? I know Decolonial knowledge isn’t easy to come by, especially when your default is Google, Wiki, and YouTube, all saturated with settler logic and Western framing. But that doesn’t mean we exist to make it easier for you. 

Here’s the truth: Seek out creators doing this Decolonial educational labor. Share our work. Amplify it. Sit with it. Don’t extract from it like it’s free intellectual product for your consumption. Ask questions, not through wounded ego, but through genuine curiosity for change. It's the least you can do if you're not going to invest in our products, newsletters, books, podcasts, or brands. Sharing content is free. The only thing it may cost you is your proximity to your privilege. 

This work is about seed planting, not debate. We are not here to convince you of anything you’re not ready to metabolize. You must tend to your internal soil so that when we plant seeds, they take root.

Here are a few things I want those racialized as white to remember:

⚠️ You are not the center of this conversation. If your instinct is to defend, explain, or recentralize your intent, pause. Ask yourself who benefits from that redirection.

⚠️ Decolonial work is not customer service. You are not owed comfort, closure, or constant clarification. This work exists in tension. That tension is sacred.

⚠️ Discomfort is not harm, but silence in the face of harm is. If your reaction to being named in a structure is to walk away, intellectualize, or accuse us of "division," then that’s avoidance.

⚠️ We don’t plant seeds for applause. We do it for collective liberation. If your first response is to argue, collapse, or moralize the tone, you’ve already missed the point.

We are not vending machines of racial enlightenment. We are not Google for your guilt. We are not here to soothe your crisis when the mirror cracks.
We are here, rooted, ancestral, sovereign, to tell the truth. Whether or not you’re ready to hear it is not our burden.

So if you’re coming to this work: Come with quiet hands and open ears. Come ready to sit with what disturbs you. Come knowing that this work will never center you, because it never should have.

A few of things to remember when engaging with anyone.

One. It’s not our job to convince any one of anything.

Two. Oppression of any kind due to racism, patriarchy, ableism, neurodivergence, misogyny, misogynoir, or any kind is not debatable.

Three. Trolls don’t deserve replies. Block them.
You’re not obligated to hand out emotional labor like free samples at Costco.

This isn’t about surviving through "echo chambers," that’s the tired script the system of whiteness uses to guilt marginalized people into tolerating abuse.
This is about protecting your energy so you can stay focused on liberation, creation, and community, not distractions engineered to drain you. This is about refusing to let the system of white supremacy weaponize “debate” as a stalling tactic. 
Because this is how we got here.

This is about honoring your boundaries, your peace, and your humanity, because the fight for justice is already heavy enough.

I needed to share my thoughts since many missed the point the first time.

It’s 2025 and we’re still witnessing teachers weaponize language against our children. An Indigenous student was told to stop speaking Spanish in class, a clear act of violence, not discipline.

This isn’t just ignorance, it’s a ritual of control embedded in settler education systems, designed to shame, silence, and erase. This isn’t new. Our community have experienced this for ages.

What I’ve found when working with my students is that too many still think racism only looks like slurs. That racism is only overt. But this? This is how white supremacy survives the classroom. Through tone. Through policies. Through everyday abuse dressed up as “rules.”

That’s why I’m partnering with schools to implement Justice A.I. GPT to protect the dignity of our children. It provides cultural, linguistic, and racial equity training to staff that schools desperately need, not just to inform teachers, but to hold them accountable to themselves. 

Students like her are navigating classrooms shaped by redlining and systemic racism, schools full of beautiful, diverse kids being taught by educators who were never trained to see their brilliance, only to manage their presence.

And by the way: We’re done calling this a ‘microaggression.’ This is Coded Violence. And it ends now.
