The most popular question I heard when I was just 5 years old was always "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Many kids my age always answered the same way kids had been answering for decades -- either becoming firemen or astronauts. I would always confidently answer that I wanted to be a teacher. Although there was no way I knew what I was talking about at the age of 5, my passion for teaching is still alive today. Being a teacher isn't all about educating others, it's also about learning. While I thoroughly enjoy learning and discussing a wide array of subject matters, I am most interested in conversations around Environmental causes, Sustainability Innovation, and AI Technologies. Over the past five years, I've pushed myself to try new things and live outside of my comfort zone. One of my most memorable endeavors has been working on a project called "H2OFlow" that focused on water consumption and wastage through the use of a device that provided users with real-time data about their water usage paired with a Phone application. As a team, we pitched at 10 different competitions in the Bay Area, winning 1st place at 8 (2nd and 3rd place finish at the other two) of these competitions and raising $25,000. More recently, I pursued a project, Surplus, that focused on reducing food wastage in restaurants and reducing food insecurity amongst college campuses. As a team, we raised $15,000 through different competitions and via Ray Zinn and his Zinnstarter incubator at SJSU. I am a competitive individual with high energy with out of the box thinking who hits the ground running and stops at nothing.
