After spending eight years as a student worker at Campaert, I was given the opportunity to assume the role of Commercial Manager/General Manager. Campaert, a wholesale distributor specializing in flooring, wall, and window coverings, is a family-owned business with fifty employees that faced stagnation and disappointing results.

My responsibilities encompassed striving for operational efficiency, cost reduction, modernization, and identifying new sales opportunities. To achieve these objectives, I conducted thorough market research and engaged in discussions with all colleagues to gain insight into their work processes. Based on this, I aimed for a faster, more uniform, and more effective approach.

In order to boost sales, I endeavored to enter new markets, motivated existing customers through incentives and volume-based discounts, and applied various creative approaches to capitalize on opportunities. These strategies were designed to increase revenue and positively impact the company's financial performance.

This was proof to me that I am a critical person and am constantly looking to improve and change. I learned how best to deal with clients and how not to antagonize them, but to understand their point of view. When you know this, you can actually help them move forward.
