Major Projects and Achievements
• Managed the information assets and staff ensuring their specific duties were completed, ensuring consistent 80-100% of book processing was completed each month.
• Mentored and trained 6-15 returning Librarian scholars (per year) and other staff members. Resulting in a better understanding the importance of the Technical Services Department and how it sits within the organisation and its branches.
• Implemented original and copy cataloguing, applied control vocabulary and records using SirsiDynix Symphony Workflows, AACR2 and MARC with a successful 90% completion rate per month.
• Metadata Management – performed quality control checks and cleaned online records to maintain an 85% correct online catalogue.
• Administrative Controls – included reports, policy documentation and manuals. Helping to highlight key achievements such as, reallocation of 50% of books from dormant library collections to new book mobile service.
• Collaborated Metadata Management with library staff in other localities, ensuring 90% accuracy of catalogue records and standardization.

Technical Service Librarian

My responsibilities included: Inputting metadata to digitized collections on Greenstone, Creating and show casing displays on various topics and National holidays in Trinidad and Tobago, Overseeing the On the Job Trainee/ Library Attendant accordingly, liaise with other libraries for Inter-Library Loan facilities, Answering queries via Question Point or patrons visiting the Heritage Library, Book launches, assisting with Library Outreach Programmes and any other related duties.
