I am a Business Development Representative at Splunk, the leading platform for data analytics and security. I have a passion for new technologies and a drive to grow and learn in a fast-paced environment.

My role is to help the sales team break into new accounts and generate qualified leads for Splunk solutions. I work with prospects from various industries and levels of seniority, understanding their business challenges and showing them how Splunk can help them achieve their goals.

Some of my key responsibilities and achievements include:
Driving, building and developing pipeline, new logos and growth through high outbound demand generation activity
Holding business conversations that follow Splunk’s sales methodology and establishing appropriate, agreed next actions, cold calling, prospecting and generating leads to build qualified sales opportunities for sales reps, prioritising strategic account lists within a defined territory and building and growing active pool and pipeline, attending and acting as a Splunk representative at select field marketing events,meeting and exceeding assigned metrics, maintaining input activity (call volumes) and achieving monthly key performance indicators working with partners for maximum effectiveness and territory expansion, updating activity and pipeline on SFDC. 

I have experience in cold calling and hunting into greenfield accounts, booking qualified sales appointments, talking about enterprise IT solutions to decision makers, and using account profiling and intelligence. I also have software sales and enterprise prospecting experience, excellent communication, written and analytical skills, and a strong motivation to grow, learn and adapt.

About the role

As a Level 3 Business Development Representative at Sumo Logic, I am responsible for generating new business opportunities and expanding our presence in the Australian Public Sector and financial sector. I work closely with a Regional Sales Manager and a team of  Enterprise Account Executives to identify and qualify leads from marketing campaigns, cold calls, emails, and networking events. l also present our company and products to potential clients and set up meetings or demos for the Account Executives.

Key Responsibilities

- Research and target key accounts within the Australian Public Sector and financial sector using various tools and sources
- Reach out to decision-makers and influencers via phone, email, social media, and events
- Articulate Sumo Logic's value proposition and differentiation to potential clients
- Qualify leads based on their needs, challenges, goals, and fit for Sumo Logic
- Schedule meetings or demos for qualified leads with the Account Executives
- Track and manage your pipeline and activities using Salesforce
- Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to provide feedback and insights
- Achieve or exceed your monthly and quarterly quotas
