Technology Clearinghouse
I lead the redesign and implementation of the district’s cybersecurity governance framework under the Technology Clearinghouse, aligning with NIST CSF 2.0, Florida Statutes, and federal laws like FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA. I chair the Academic and Technical Committees, bringing Legal, Curriculum, Risk, and IT teams together to review third-party digital tools for instructional alignment, data privacy, and long-term technical feasibility. I developed the Online Educational Services Provider List. I implemented a districtwide monitoring tool to track student-facing technology, flag unauthorized apps, and guide remediation in compliance with Florida State Statute 1006.28.

Cybersecurity Controls and Policy
I manage a team of Cybersecurity Control Analysts responsible for refining policy documentation and implementing governance workflows. I lead the district’s cybersecurity policy review process in coordination with Legal and internal stakeholders, ensuring our standards evolve with regulatory changes and operational needs. I maintain and update SOPs, IT Standards Manuals, and Acceptable Use Policies that promote consistent understanding of secure access protocols. I’m also actively engaged in policy development around emerging tech such as AI and third-party SaaS platforms.

Audit and Compliance
I coordinate districtwide audit and compliance efforts, maintaining audit-ready documentation, technical responses, and corrective action plans. I oversee the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) process to identify risks and support continuity and incident response planning. I collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to validate evidence, track audit outcomes, and enhance our cybersecurity controls and governance strategy.

IT - Specialist II - IT Security - Governance

TECHNOLOGY MODERNIZATION AND SYSTEM INTEGRATION
Coordinated with IT Security, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Applications to implement secure, scalable systems across the district. Managed the PeopleSoft ERP upgrade, aligning enhancements with cybersecurity policies, audit needs, and operational goals. Oversaw the migration of enterprise data from IBM DB2 to Oracle, improving performance, data integrity, and compliance with retention and privacy regulations. Helped design a modern infrastructure to support long-term scalability and regulatory alignment.

SECURITY IMPLEMENTATIONS
Led deployment of Carbon Black EDR, replacing legacy antivirus with behavior-based threat detection to reduce endpoint risks. Managed the rollout of LightSpeed Web Content Filtering to meet CIPA standards and safeguard digital learning. Directed the Appsian integration for PeopleSoft, enabling MFA, SSO, geo-filtering, data masking, and secure admin controls to enhance identity access and protect sensitive data. Authored security upgrade documentation to ensure audit readiness and internal policy alignment.

AUDIT and COMPLIANCE COLLABORATION
Collaborated with School Police and IT teams to prepare detailed documentation for internal and state audits. Aligned districtwide security efforts across digital platforms and physical infrastructure. Regularly produced audit reports for leadership, supporting compliance with FERPA, CIPA, and Florida statutes. Incorporated audit feedback into improved procedures and updated cybersecurity control documentation.
