Hi, I’m Ryan Watson, and I’m a star of the social media space and a magician of the digital marketing multiverse. Here’s my story 👇🏼 Aged 21, I graduated with a 2:1 in Law. At the time, I was pretty happy with my young self. What I didn’t realise was, that it was practically impossible to get a job in law unless you graduated with a 1st from Oxford or Cambridge. 😞 So, I floated through life for a while, in jobs that were stop gaps essentially and I didn’t enjoy any of the jobs I had. I wondered to myself as I got older “what can I do for a life-long career?” I began a hunt for the industry to reignite my excitement to work and learn. 🧐 Funnily enough, the pandemic was a wake up call, I spent a lot more time on social media and it clicked: the digital world is the answer, right before my eyes this whole time! 😮 With the gift of spare time, I have achieved a fair amount in this field ✅ I have attained certifications in: Social Media Marketing; Content Marketing; Digital Advertising; Search Engine Optimisation; Google Analytics; Google Ads Search; Later Product Pro Level II; Keyword Research; Pay Per Click As well as having: Attained a certification in Project Management I also plan on gaining more certifications in: 🔜 Email Marketing Inbound Marketing Google Ads As I believe you should never stop learning! Having put the hard hours in for many months, I hit gold and got my first digital marketing role in July 2021, through Lead Kinetics’ digital marketing agency 🤩 This gave me the on-the-job experience and confidence I needed to set up my own business as a freelance social media manager in January 2022. I named my business Watson Your Socials 😂 I got my first client in the same month, and I’m absolutely loving the content I’m creating and results I’m producing for them and for my own social pages too 📈 I believe I have found my calling in social media management, because I don’t find it a drag, I find it exhilarating! 🤓 As well renowned entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk would say: “if you build a business around something you love, you’re more likely to work hard to get there.” 💪🏼 I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and for Watson Your Socials! ☺️
