My interest in information technology began at age eight when my father gifted me a Texas Instruments computer and I learned BASIC coding. My academic pursuits branched in other directions as I got older; however. I was exposed to the need for cybersecurity education personally after being the target of several attacks including phone number spoofing, credit identity theft, unauthorized surveillance/cyberstalking, deepfakes and social media account hacking. From that point I realized how necessary it was to know how to protect myself against such breaches as well as to pass along to the "average" technology user how important it is to have a working knowledge of how to keep themselves and their assets safe.
