At Crossmint I’m building the legal organisation for both our US and international operations, focusing on the corporate and commercial legal needs of the company, as well as our compliance with legislation in the different markets we operate in. Reporting directly to the CEO and Board of Directors, my position is transversal to the whole company, supporting and partnering up with every department (business development, finance, compliance, operations, support, etc.). I also hold the office of Secretary for the different entities of the group (entities in the USA and Spain), and I'm a director in the Spanish entity.

Other relevant tasks and responsibilities are:
● Review/draft/negotiate commercial agreements
● Manage Intellectual Property: copyrights, trademarks, and patents
● Manage financing and M&A transactions (pre-financing, due diligence, documentation). Led the closing of documents for our first financing round
● Manage relationships with external parties (investors, outside counsel, customers, contractors)
● Draft/preserve business records (contracts, board and stockholder minutes and resolutions)
● Ensure legal compliance, anticipating to new regulations in the industry (e.g. money transmission MTLs, MiCA, GDPR, etc.). Contributed to the obtention of our SOC2 Type II certification.
● Partnered with our Compliance team on implementing a risk-based approach to our business, including, among others, antifraud, AML and sanctions. 
● Advise executive team and board on various matters
● Advise and execute on employment matters including policies, hiring, visas and complaints (terminations)
● Assist CFO and finance team re. tax compliance and statutory filings
● Assess potential litigation matters
● Help develop and implement company-wide policies

As a curious tidbit, I'm becoming a power user of ChatGPT for supporting me in the creation of the first drafts of the relevant documentation I prepare as part of my day to day responsibilities.

In addition to my role as Head of Legal, I have been formally appointed Data Protection Officer of the Crossmint group.  In the words of GDPR, my responsibility is to assist the company in all issues relating to the protection of personal data. In particular:
- inform and advise the executive team, as well as our employees, of our obligations under data protection law;
- monitor compliance of the organisation with all legislation in relation to data protection, including in audits, awareness-raising activities as well as training of staff;
- prepare DPIAs and monitor its performance;
- act as a contact point for requests from individuals regarding the processing of their personal data and the exercise of their rights; and
- act as liaison with Data Protection Authorities.

Working on corporate, M&A, retail, real estate, contracts and technology cases. Specialized in the drafting and negotiation of advanced, high level contracts for the regulation of complex situations in different industries and backgrounds. I'm also an advisor and part of the organization at Cuatrecasas Acelera, an accelerator program for legaltech and fintech startups in Spain, and I have participated in several pilots for the implementation of new technologies in the firm.

Last but not least, I've been the mentor for several new hires into the team.

At Oracle I was in charge of managing, negotiating and selling complex contracts of Cloud SaaS deals to Spanish mid-market companies.

As part of day to day activities, I had to liaise with different teams and stakeholders in (namely, legal, IT and operations) and outside the company in order to organize, control and deliver ambitious and complex cloud transformation projects to these clients.

In short, I helped my customers grow through Inbound Marketing and consulted on complex marketing strategies and contracts.

Since the very beginning, I had amazing results, staying over 180% of my quota throughout the year. Thanks to these results, I had the responsibility to mentor new hires and I was promoted to senior after only 5 months in the job.

I was part of the inaugural Business Leadership Program (BLP) in EMEA, a unique development scheme designed to endow 10 graduates from throughout EMEA with the skills necessary to build a successful career at LinkedIn and beyond. 

For my first rotation at BLP, I joined the Recruitment Team at Linkedin's HQ EMEA in Dublin, where I had the great challenge of finding the best talent to join our amazing high growth company. 
For my second rotation, I moved to the Enterprise Services and Operations team. Here, my role was to provide support and advice on our solutions to our biggest Corporate Clients, as well as conducting on-boardings.

I started this amazing initiative in my last year at college. I drafted the by-laws of the group, and I presented it to the board of directors of the University. I didn't get much support at the beginning, so I decided to organize a kick-off presentation, where I used all the communications channels available to gather more than 150 students and show them my idea. After this success, the University backed me both economically and materially. 

After our success in the first year, the Club keeps running today with over 50 members joining every year and it's an example for other student organizations that are being created in the University (we receive over 300 applications every year)
