Professor Marcia M Carneiro obtained her Medical degree from Faculty of Medicine at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais-UFMG (1994), where she did her residnecy in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She then pursued her master's in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Universidade de São Paulo-USP (1999) at Ribeirão Preto. Her PhD degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology was obtained at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2004). At present she is Full Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Postgraduation Course on Women's Health at UFMG. She was chief of department from 2013 to 2017. She has also founded and coordinates the multidisciplinary team at the Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Unit at Hospital das Clínicas at UFMG since 2009. She has experience in Medicine, working is on the following subjects: infertility, endometriosis, reproductive physiology, in vitro fertilization(IVF). She is currently Editor in Chief for Women & Health, a Taylor and Francis publication.
