I'm about to teach something I'd rarely actually build for a client.

I'm prepping for a 1-hour n8n webinar on "How to Build AI Agents"

But in 2 years of client work? I've built agents maybe twice.

Here's my dilemma:
For the webinar, I'm building an agent because:
→ It's faster to demo (fewer blocks)
→ It looks impressive ("give it instructions and watch it work")
→ It matches what people expect to see.

But for actual client projects? I build workflows.
Sequential. Logical. Boring-looking blocks that connect APIs, process data, and deliver results predictably.

Why don't I use agents for real work?
→ Harder to debug when something breaks
→ More unpredictable (they make mistakes and can stop before they complete the task)
→ Cost more (consume more tokens)
→ Clients need reliability, not flashiness.

So I'm torn between teaching 
↳what the market wants to learn - Agents
↳and what actually works in production - Workflows.

The webinar might inspire people to start automating, which is good.

But if they try to build agents for real projects, they'll hit walls I'm not preparing them for.

What's your take? Should education inspire first and let people discover the reality later? Or should we share nuances upfront even if it breaks the AI agent illusion?

September was my busiest month ever as a solo AI automation agency.

→ Worked on 3 automation projects in parallel
→ Ran an in-person workshop
→ Planned an upcoming n8n cohort

That's a lot on its own, but I also:

→ Ran discovery calls
→ Joined 2 podcasts as a guest
→ Had ~100 LinkedIn conversations
→ Caught up with past clients
→ Attended industry events
→ Prepped for upcoming events
→ Created LinkedIn content and engaged with nearly every comment

While it brought me close to $10k this month, I felt exhausted.

Now that I can breathe, I clearly see a few things:

1/ I'm my own bottleneck. No automation can fix this. 
Taking on more projects, even with freelancers, would only spread me thinner. My focus caps at 4 projects a month.

2/ Networking is great, but in moderation. 
Podcasts and calls are fun, but my time and focus are limited and I need to protect them.

3/ Building projects is the worst use of my time. 
When I'm deep into building, I miss out on content creation, more scalable opportunities, and only get better at building, not at business.

I'm very grateful for all the connections and projects, but it can't continue like this.

So, since October:
→ I'm no longer taking on dev projects from new clients.
→ I'm focusing on educational and done-with-you programs for those ready to invest in AI automation.
→ I'm becoming more ruthless with my time, priorities, and access to me.

This month made it clear: I've maxed out what's possible with custom dev projects. To grow, I need to rethink how I deliver value.

In January 2023 I started with 300 followers and no clue what I was doing.

When I started writing on LinkedIn:
- I had no clear niche
- I was very insecure
- I felt cringe
- My ex colleagues laughed at 'influencers' and made me believe influencing was not for people like me.

I found LinkedIn to be one of the best social media platforms out there for growing a personal brand in tech. Just yesterday I couldn't get to sleep because my mind started counting all the opportunities I got this year: podcasts, speaking, clients, community. That growth happened because I decided to show up.

I believe we need more normal people, more professionals with experience, to share their opinions, share knowledge they gain from their day-to-day work, share insights, not just be talking heads.

After I reached 10k followers I created a LinkedIn guide where I share my story and tips that I wish I knew when I started. I never published it and plan to reposition it before I put it up for sale.

But since it's just collecting virtual dust for now, I want to share it for free with those who might need a bit of motivation and encouragement.

It's an 87-page PDF guide written in July that covers tips to grow your following, get clients, and communicate properly - all with real examples from my account.

I recently hosted an n8n workshop for an IT company in Vienna, a city I now call home. 

10+ people. 4 hours of learning together.

It was fascinating to see 
Product Managers 
Devs 
Designers 
all diving into automations with n8n for the first time.

Easy? Not always. Challenging? You bet. Worth it? Totally.

The look on their faces when automation populated the data? Golden.
Hearing: "The data is already in the CRM?" was priceless.

Everyone gained fresh insights, myself included.

Some insights:
- Watching others build ≠ actually building
- Automation feels intuitive, but hands-on is key. You 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 learn by doing!
- Asking questions is your best friend when learning something new
