One question I often encounter is, "What inspired me to embark on the path of coaching?" The answer lies in the journey of my life. Formally, I established my coaching practice two and a half years ago in 2021. Yet, informally, I assumed the role of not just an older sister but an informal mentor to my three younger siblings early in life. My teachers at school recognized my innate leadership qualities. I was always entrusted with the role of a class monitor and in grade 7 was chosen to shoulder the responsibility of a school prefect, a position that marked the beginning of a journey that led me to become the school house captain and eventually the school head girl. This natural progression continued into my teaching career. I found myself in roles of leadership at various stages. During the last decade of my 25-year career in education, I wore the hat of a school leader. In all these roles, coaching and mentoring were seamlessly woven into the fabric of my responsibilities. In 2020, I bid farewell to my role as a school leader. The decision to leave was surprisingly easy, as I had reached a point of saturation in that capacity. I craved the thrill of learning and growth once more. My thirst for knowledge, set me on a journey into career guidance in 2020, While working closely with students, I began to notice mind blocks and challenges that affected their academic performance arose from their past experiences, and the impact of their interactions with peers, parents, and the broader community. These observations sparked a desire in me to learn more about human Psychology. I found myself drawn to life coaching as a shortcut to a degree in psychology leading me to the Robert Simich Coaching Institute, which offered a KHDA-approved life coaching certification. Little did I know that this decision would not only transform my perception of the world but also unlock a new reality that I am still in the process of defining. It's a realm I have yet to name because, at times, I find myself questioning whether it's a tangible reality or a creation of my vivid imagination. What I now understand is that this external world I perceive is an extension of my inner self. It's a realization that has reshaped my perspective and ushered me into a realm of limitless possibilities. I invite you to join me on this journey of self-discovery, growth, and transformation.
