The WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story Fan Experience unlocked access all things WEIRD in one convenient (and free!) location — directly from the Home Screen Menu with a behind the scenes look at the making of the film, exclusive behind the scenes clips and more. The House of the Dragon experience on the Home Screen Menu that celebrated the premier of the most anticipated title of the year. This was our first branded "world-building" integration on the Home page, and was a key part of our biggest subscription VOD marketing deal yet that involved more than 100 employees to bring to life on- and off-platform.

I once thought that once I cracked the interviews to finally get the coveted PM role in my dream company, I would finally feel better after years of feeling small and unrecognized for my true talents.

I poured my life into my "big career" jobs.

I kept on trying to "make it"... first the dream role, then exceeding performance reviews, then promotions...

It never ended. I was constantly trying to "make it", thinking that once I get the "next thing" I will feel better for sure.

I was constantly running from work to daycare or kid activities, and back to work for another meeting or another deadline.

Even after I got myself to turn off my laptop, I couldn't stop thinking about work.

I was constantly worried, thinking that there's something else I need to do more of.

I felt like I always need to demonstrate that growth mindset, always asking for feedback to improve, always trying to impress my managers, always trying to exceed expectations. 

I had mysterious stomach pains that lasted for years. Doctors didn't know what was wrong with me. They even evaluated me for bladder cancer, thankfully it didn't test positive.

My sleep issues also lasted years. I just couldn't get good sleep. Laying in bed with eyes wide open with racing thoughts were normal nights for me.

But, as long as I was getting good reviews, I had perceived that my lack of wellbeing was "worth it".

This went on for many years, until I got a new manager who just did not like my work no matter how hard I tried. 

I got to experience gaslighting, bullying, belittling, disrespect, and all the things.... 

It was my wakeup call to finally realize life is so much more than a job, performance reviews, promotions, and all the other "big career" things.

No amount of external accomplishments can fill the void if I didn't truly see myself as worthy. 

Everything starts from within, which then translates to actions we take.

I was taking a ton of actions, without grounding myself in my authenticity. That's why I kept on chasing the next thing, thinking the next thing will actually make me feel better about myself.

... but I couldn't stop chasing. There's always something else.

Until the toxic manager surfaced.... what a great life lesson I learned, that I wouldn't have learned any other way.

Now I approach life in a much balanced way, starting with mindset and then tactics. 

And this is how I help my clients stop their spiraling so they can always take their aligned actions that put them on the fast path to their career goals.

My clients look like they have their acts together, because they are doing all the things that look successful to the outside world.
... but they are actually falling apart inside, slowly burning away their light, and no one would know.

I help them get on their fast paths without the spirals, and I can help you too.

I wish I recorded my convo with a prospect today because I felt like I channeled a refreshed perspective from the universe that has never been in the forefront of my conscious awareness before. 🤩 

When the market was hot, we all got away with sending a generalized resume with generalized stories we'd tell in behavioral and leadership interviews. 

But the market is different now. The "mass appeal" strategy is no longer effective.

Instead, what we are selling (ie our expertise) requires more thoughtfulness with deeper thinking and framing.

What does the employer need?
Why did they word the JD this way? What does this tell me about their culture?
What can I bring to the table that is needed for this role (and not other roles)?
How can I frame my stories so that I speak the same language as the employer?
How can I bring my authentic self to the interviews so that I create a deeper emotional connection?

How we think affects the actions we take.

And this is why mindset and our underlying belief system is more important than actions.

To stand out as a high performer, whether during job search or in the role, we first need a mindset that also stands out. It's not about just always be performing.

“Your videos are different from other videos, your approach is different, and you are so calm. You help us think more critically," said another prospect last week.

The truth is that I am not actively trying to approach things differently, I just have a different mindset. And that difference in mindset is what makes my approach different.

Actions stem from mindset.

A lot of people ask me,"what can I do to stand out?"

My answer is always..... do you think in ways that stand out? 

Actions stem from mindset.

Once you shift your mindset, your actions will also shift, and that is when you organically stand out without trying.

SO HAPPY for my client, who not only cleared their interviews, but also cleared their LEVEL (IC 7 PM at Meta) without getting downleveled! ✨ ✨ ✨ 

I got downleveled..... which really hurt my ego... 

Looking back, I understand why.
I see where I could have done better.

Mindset wise... I was showing up to TAKE.
Being a Meta PM was my dream, everything was on the line for me, especially my ego.
I was not showing up to GIVE... 

Tactic wise... the interview was not my best performance.
I did not truly leverage my strategic thinking... 
I focused on the persona that I identified with...
I could have done more to think about other types of people with different perspectives.

Btw, my product sense question was "How would you improve physical grocery shopping?" 

As an ex competitive piano player, I now see that interviews are just like performances.
You need to know how to play an instrument.
But you also need to know how to perform: the stage presence, how you walk on stage, how you move your hands, how you wipe your hands when they get sweaty, etc.

I've learned so much and now I am on a mission to help my clients accomplish goals that are BIGGER than anything I've accomplished myself.

As a solopreneur, doing Sales Calls is part of my job where success is when prospects become clients. My success rate used to be ~20%, and now it is ~40-50%. 

The doubling in my success rate is a result of learning best practices in how to sell, and understanding buying behavior and psychology. 

I also realized, a Sales Call is exactly the same as a First Interview. I am being interviewed for the first time by a client, which is exactly the same as you going into your First Interview either with recruiter or hiring manager. 

My prospects are evaluating whether they want to hire me in a Sales Call, which is exactly the same as a recruiter or hiring manager evaluating whether they want to advance you to the next interview.

Once this realization became clear, I was able to take what I've learned to double my success rate in Sales Calls and frame it from the job interview angle. 

I now have a playbook that I use to help my clients double their success rate in converting their First Interviews to the next round. 

And the data is clear. My client shared that they were asked to schedule the next interview just 15 min into their first screen! 

I'm now hitting the word limit for Linkedin posts, so I'll share more details on the playbook in another post.

I was coached on a power move to the shortest-fastest-path to your goals, and manifesting at the speed of light  -  the "Celebration/Harvest/Completion" practice ✨

Cycles are integral to nature and our existence, similar to the changing seasons and lunar phases: 

1. Initiation: The birth of new ideas, where leaders thrive on innovation.
2. Growth: Development of the innovation.
3. Harvest: Celebrate any and all the achievements no matter how big or small.
4. Completion: Clearing the old to make way for new growth.

Seasoned manifestation practitioners know that aligning with these cycles means embracing the path of LEAST resistance and enhancing EFFICIENCY. 💪 

As leaders, we are naturally good at Initiation and Growth but not so good at the Harvest and Completion...

... but when we forget to Harvest (aka celebrate) and Complete (aka integration), our brains forget to focus on things that work, and can easily focus all the energies on things that don't work (aka Scarcity Mindset), this is when we get trapped in repetitive negative loops, hindering our true progress.

When we get trapped in repetitive negative loops, it is potentially years added to our journeys towards our ultimate goals. 

And that's why it's SO IMPORTANT to train our brains to look for things that work, no matter how big or small, and actually take the time to CELEBRATE and label it as such, our brains learn to shift the focus to more positivity and less on negativity.

Today, I am celebrating my client who just signed their IC6 PM offer from Meta! 🥂 🥂 🥂 

We started working together when they felt that as an introverted PM, it was a struggle to stand out in Product Sense interviews.

I am SO HAPPY for them and for their new team at Meta for making a great hire 😎 

With this Celebration, I'd also like to Complete this practice by sharing lessons I am learning about myself:
... I am naturally wired to get energy from generating energy for others, as a Generator (per my Human Design Chart.)
... This is why I never felt the same level of energy as a PM, even when my products were used by millions of users. 
... When you work up the courage to be your REAL self, and do things the way you are meant to, you discover a FLOW and EASE that the status quo way could never give you ❤️

As the new moon and eclipse come together today, you are invited to hit the restart button on career and life. This new moon is special because the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Chiron are all in Aries, joining forces to push us toward something new.

This is a great time to heal and start fresh. It's like the universe is opening up a bunch of doors for you to find new paths.

Now's the time to let go of old stuff, focus on what's ahead, and embrace a new adventure that really feels right for who you are becoming.

The Solar Eclipse in Aries is giving you a kick to begin new things bravely. Aries, being the first sign, is all about starting and having the courage to be new at something, to learn, and to grow from there.

This eclipse is also a reminder that you are always moving, always learning, and that it's okay to start over, no matter how scary or uncertain things may seem. 

Imagine how good it'll feel to reach those goals and make those changes in your life that you've been wanting.

As I reflect back to when I was a PM director (as an IC, not people manager), I had an amazing balance with amazing pay, without a lot of work stress (even though I was surrounded by a lot of anxious/jaded/negative/disgruntled people at work).

Through that experience (which most people would think is near impossible to get amazing pay with great title and balance) I learned a new mindset which enabled me fully embody that everything is possible, even when most people don't believe it. 

I am living it, and I can help you. 

I can show you how to rewire your core beliefs that have been holding you back.
I can show you how you've been conditioned to believe that you can only accomplish a subset of what you can actually accomplish.

I spent 90+% of my career (and life) focusing on excellence under pressure: being a competitive pianist, getting into "prestigious" high school, college, grad school, and companies. 

I was able to make things happen by focusing on all the DOING: strategies, tactics, hard work, grit, perseverance, etc. 

It worked perfectly until it didn't.... I barely slept, I had mysterious stomach pains for years, major imposter syndrome, experienced toxic management with constant gaslighting etc. 

But if it wasn't these low vibe experiences, I wouldn't have had my spiritual awakening 6 years ago.

Through my spiritual growth, I began to experience life in a new way that is much easier.

I began to realize so much of my limiting beliefs are due to societal and cultural conditioning. 

Much of our society operates from a place of fear and scarcity which deeply kept me small and constrained. 

But we are all much bigger than we were led to believe. 

And all the DOING is not what is needed for success; the needle movers are the THINKING and BEING.

Doing, thinking, being = body, mind, spirit. 

When you only leverage the DOING, you are only leveraging a small part of you. 

When you leverage your WHOLE self, through your THINKING and BEING, you will start to realize that excellence can be achieved with ease, even when you are under all the pressure.

And that is what I was able to model for my client... by not only helping them with their deck (the DOING), but also helping them stay grounded under pressure (the THINKING and BEING).

"This is your best video YET,' said one of my clients. 😍  It's all around the MINDSET you need to stay calm in interviews. 

In yesterday's group coaching session, a client asked: "How do you stay calm in interviews? How do you connect with the interviewer without sounding desperate?"

At the end, she said "I wish I can record to this so I can listen to this before my interviews."

Good thing the sessions are recorded and now I am able to share this clip with you too!

I answered this question in 2 parts:

1️⃣ In terms of how we connect with other people:

There's a whole spectrum of frequency levels. We all have our own unique frequency. Each person is unique in that way.

Frequency is also a range, and by definition, when you resonate with someone, that means you are vibrating on similar frequencies. This is just physics.

This also means I cannot vibrate on the entire spectrum across all frequency levels.

I have my range and you have your range. The fact that we're able to have a pleasant conversation, means our frequencies overlap with one another. That's how we are able to resonate. 

By this definition, there could be someone who is completely way off the range, such that I just don't resonate with them.

With this mindset, I am okay with not vibrating with everyone that I meet, because that's just impossible. 

2️⃣  You are most likely showing up to TAKE:

Obviously, it's an interview... But, when you show up to TAKE, you're expecting something back in return.

And when you're expecting something back in return, your focus is on that return - this is the Taker's Mentality.

When your focus is on the thing that you get back in return, not on the actual conversation itself. 

But, when you show up to GIVE, there's no strings attached. You are just giving your perspective and stories.

When we show up to give, all of a sudden, we feel a lot lighter. And when we feel a lot lighter, we automatically show up as our most AUTHENTIC selves.

And when we're the most authentic, that means we are WHOLE, whole across body, mind, spirit...

When you are showing up to take, you focusing on that result. And then you are trying to overly prove that you are competent.  

But if you're just focusing on one piece of you, then you're NOT whole. 

When you're not whole, then you're no longer unique. You're just a SMALLER version of yourself. 🦐 

But when you're whole, then you're unique because by definition, there is no one else like you. 🦄 

And that also means by doing LESS, you're actually doing MORE in an interview setting because you're being who you are as a whole, a whole of you, then you're authentic, you're unique, and you're just you.

AND another client said something similar too, that while we were on our call, a Meta recruiter reached out, even though they've never applied. It was a MAGICAL moment for them because they said this has never happened before.

I LOVE bringing magical experiences to my clients! And that's because life is SUPPOSED to be full of EASE and FLOW as soon as you allow all the magic to come into your life.

I've been experiencing magic and now I love nothing more than helping my clients experience it for themselves!

As soon as you shift your energy, your perception of the world will also shift.

This can take awhile but can also be instantaneous and synchronistic!

... this is what collapsing time looks like!
