I know, nowhere near viral but 

Thought I was just being funny Saturday 🤭

Took all of 20 seconds to write my post …

Came back 3 hours later to over 30 connection requests and 10,000 impressions

Oh sh*t 🫣

So yeh, not my usual ‘Monday content’ but watch me attempt to ride this wave one day more 👀

It's giving sleezy at this point but we can't waste too much time worrying what others think 🤪

Which won’t sound a lot to some, but for me…

Probably the equivalent of all my post impressions combined for the last 2 weeks

I won’t even mention the influx of connection requests 👀

Confirmation that sex still sells 🍆

If anyone needs me I’ll be in the gym gathered more “content” (aka taking more pics with the girls) 🤣😭🤣

The result of my X-Ray - 
👉 It's been confirmed that I do have a stress fracture 🥹

What I've been doing - 
👉 NOTHING 😭

How recovery is going - 
👉 Who knows, it's been 2 weeks since my xray and my leg is still hurting, some days more than others.

It's a constant battle in my mind of "get back training/moving" and worrying that I will do something stupid, injure myself further and need to reset the time I've already had off (17 days and counting) 😮‍💨

Here's hoping that next week goes well as I plan on easing back into a routine 🤞

But wow, who knew that adding just 2 runs a week into your usual training programme could cause so much drama??

Not me 🙃

𝗦𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗻𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘅 ➡️ 𝘛𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 

OnMetrix are trusted financial data partners, utilising chartered accountancy expertise, turning complex figures into clear, actionable insights, empowering smarter decisions 🧠 

Our task was to 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 OnMetrix with a more 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 that reflected their 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, instilling trust and standing them out within their 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁.

They initially planned to keep their existing colour palette, but we saw an opportunity to introduce something with more energy - one that better captured their personality and reflected who they are as a company 🎨

𝗪𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 🫣

We all remember our first logo design for a client… don’t we? 👀

Well, here's mine, back in 2014 - a true classic 😂

The most obvious idea you could imagine.

👉 Wonky lines pretending to be “hand-crafted”
👉 A font that looks like it had crawled out of WordArt
👉 And of course - the generic, typical concept that could have been anyone’s… and definitely was 

(I kid you not, the Facebook comment underneath said "Looks like James Bond. License to selfie" 😫😂)

Good? Absolutely not.
Unique? Not even close.
Brand Strategy? I'd never even heard of that at this point 😂

Well this was a great Motivational Monday for me anyway, at least my skillset has progressed since then 🥲

𝗠𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 🙅‍♀️

I was a young, shy, quiet uni kid, but ✅ ticking all the boxes the tutors told me to;

"𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘢 𝘫𝘰𝘣 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘪"

But here's how I remember this experience;

1. It should have been two weeks - but was cut down to one 😮‍💨

2. I wasn't sat with everyone else - I was on a table, with my back to the rest of the room 🫣

3. I didn't drink coffee or tea at the time - so I'm pretty sure they were fuming that I wasn't being the office mule they were used to from workplace students 🫏

4. The cherry on the cake for me - it took me 3 days to warm up enough to everyone and start having a "laugh"

They'd put me on a logo design project.

By myself.

Bare in mind, this was my second year in uni and my first 'real-world' project, so I was bricking it 😫

To this day, I'll never forget the guy who was mentoring me, I'd been joking and laughing with a couple of the other team members for about 10 minutes when he came in and asked to see what I'd come up with so far...

I think I sussed he wasn't impressed when the words "this isn't a joke, if you don't come up with something decent, one of us will have to stay behind after 5:30 and do it ourselves" 

Even thinking about this now knocks me as sick as it did on the day

Safe to say I spent the last day panicking about this logo, clock watching, just waiting for the day to end 😫

 I could have kissed them when they said I didn't have to go in the week after, what an awful experience 🤢

I didn't know this then but I know it now - work place culture, it clearly matters - and not just for your permanent team 🤝

𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀!

You’re not alone
👉 It was intentional 

This rebrand didn’t reinvent the wheel. And that’s the genius of it.

At a time when brands chase “bold” rebrands and end up with sterile wordmarks (we're looking at you Jaguar and Rolls-Royce) Amazon has shown maturity 💁🏼‍♀️

They didn’t change the logo for the sake of change.

They retained their recognisability, fully maintaining the recall factor and instead made subtle (but very intentional) improvements:

→ Higher contrast for better accessibility
→ A deeper, more emphatic smile
→ A more flexible typeface to work across 50+ sub-brands (the spacing between the letters now 👌🏽)

If you think there's nothing to rave about with this logo refresh, you probably don't see the difference between a smirk 🙂 and a warm, friendly smile 😇

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀, 𝗯𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻?

Well, this is my current reality for the next 4-8 weeks.  

Little-Miss-'potential'-Stress-Fracture is the official title 👈

I had my x-ray on Wednesday, the results aren't in just yet, but regardless of what they say, I’ve made a decision: 

I need to take a proper break from the gym 😮‍💨

It’s been a tough call to make, to pause.

Especially when I'm so used to rushing around.

But I’m choosing to focus on the positives — more time to recover, catch up on life, and of course, come back stronger.  

The lesson? Always listen to your body. Ignoring its cues for rest only risks longer setbacks 😭

Sometimes, stopping is the bravest thing you can do.
