Business Smart is a new college certificate aimed at full time learners, supporting them in identifying and developing skills ready for employment or self employment whilst complementing their main qualifications and progression routes.  Business Smart is adapted for each learner, through the use of personal development plans, skills audits and cross college interviews. This ensures that each learner receives individual and appropriate support and advice.
As coordinating lecturer for Business Smart, my role is to write, coordinate and deliver the certificate based on my experience since August 2012 delivering BTEC's in business and enterprise with a self employment focus.

The new Peter Jones Enterprise Academy opened at Peterborough Regional College in January 2013. As Enterprise Tutor, I have guided students through BTECs in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship at Level 2 & now also at Level 3.

I have worked on the local Scene magazines since 2009, starting with the co-launch of the Rutland Scene (to March 2012).  The Scene magazines are now published in Deeping, Stamford, & Peterborough PLUS specialist Wedding and Business to Business magazines in the Peterborough & surrounding areas.

NHS Contracts

The role in Medisavers was one of supporting the NHS Glove Contracts team, which worked
throughout the UK with the NHS distribution centres. On a daily basis I would manage orders for
examination gloves into the NHS and regularly prepare applications for contracts with Primary Care
Trusts. This required detailed preparation of the application as well as occasional meetings with the
NHS contract teams.

I have worked in a range of industries, from fundraising, publishing, database marketing and more recently within further education.

My role at Peterborough Regional College is as Curriculum Leader & Lecturer within the business team leading on level 1 & 2 BTEC's and also teaching on level 3 BTEC Business courses, including NQF.  Further responsibilities include being a personal tutor to level 3 learners and IV responsibility across level 1, 2 and 3 BTEC work.  Previously I was Enterprise Tutor for the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, which opened in January 2013, supporting and teaching students on level 2 & 3 BTEC's in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship and additionally Co-ordinating Lecturer for Business Smart, a college certificate written around personal development for learners in FE.
