Tech Connect is an employment program for visible minority newcomer women searching for work in the Tech Sector. It is funded by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

As a Tech Connect Career & Mentorship Advisor, my primary focus is:
● Workshop planning & facilitation
● One-to-one career advising & goal setting, and action planning
● Connecting clients with mentors who are industry professional
● Curriculum development and facilitate workshops on resume and cover letter writing, mock interview preparation, career development & planning, BC tech industry landscape and job search strategies etc.

MOSAIC

MOSAIC is one of the largest settlement non-profit organizations in Canada. serving immigrant, refugee, migrant and mainstream communities in Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley as well as throughout the province of BC and overseas via online programs.
As an Employment Services Advisor for two programs, Fast Track to Technology Careers (F2TC) and Fast Track to Manufacturing (F2M), I provided one-on-one career advising and job search support to clients and connect them with promising employers. For F2TC, My main responsibilities were:
● Facilitating employment skills workshops
● Organizing employer panels and speaker session
● Resume and cover letter advising and coaching
● Job development
● Moderating employer panel and guest speaker sessions
● Career advising and connecting participants with employers
● Assisting clients with developing Career Plans and Action plans

Employment Services Advisor

Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology

My experience of organizing career and job search related events for STEM women at SCWIST includes resume review workshops, career-focused lunch and learns, and a highly successful job fair. The “Women in STEM Job Fair” showcased 16 companies, generated over $14689 revenue, and featured panel discussions, workshops, 1:1 resume advising and 1:1 career coaching. While working with volunteers in the role of Director for Leadership, I recognized the challenges that the job seekers face and, on several occasions, provided employment advice and job search assistance.
